Definitely Pips (he was an awesome horse after all). The sooner the better! Be careful with the stick. Poking beasts (let alone giant beasts) can be dangerous. Just look at the misfire for proof!
So what are the chances of getting these made as well as the artillery die? I would love a set of these.
I think the pip design can be used for scatter as well. The lizard is looking the direction of scatter on, and on the misfire the skink is running the direction of scatter. That's how I would use it anyway.
Hmmm. Scatter dice have 2 "Hits". There are only 2 salamander sides - that could be the convention, but you would need to explain to your opponent every time. I need to get my hands on the army book to finalize designs. Depending on how much more expensive the salamander hunting packs are, I may need to depict the skink with a cigar and wearing a top hat and tuxedo (thanks Slanputin) I'll re-visit the D3 as well. Those "custom 6" dice are sweet, but rolling 30 at a time at chessex prices could put a serious dent in the treasury. Check out "Wait no more for custom dice" http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/spawning-of-bob-wait-no-more-for-custom-dice.10614/ if you are a cheapskate like me. These look quite effective at table top resolution. I have no idea how durable they are. Did anyone give it a try?
I'm quite liking these designs, they're all rather smexy. I do like the idea of the Razordon/Salamanders, although somewhat doubtful about their ability to be legible on the small dice-face. I hope he's riding a Salamander with a Bowler Hat and a Monocle
Thanks Bob, I forgot about that post. I just dug out a red, black and green die to try it out. I'll post some pics when I get them done.
Tried out Bob's Lizard Die idea. Please let me know what you think. Comments/Critiques/Suggestions welcome. Thanks, Len
Hey, those look pretty snazzy. The gold really pops off. Drumroll, please.... Chessex has awaken! They're wrath was naught and harnessing the great beast was relatively easy. I have submitted our designs as they are now. They will be making up samples for us and I will post pictures here when they arrive. Like Rikard said, we should talk colors. Anyone have anything exciting in mind besides black and white? I have asked what colors are available for these size of dice. I am planning on getting them 22-mm sized as to differentiate them from the prior custom lizard dice fairly easily. As far as I can see on their website, the 22-mm dice only come in black and white, so fingers crossed I guess. Also.... does anyone think a 22-mm die is too big? And on the note of custom lizard dice, is there sufficient interest to order more of these? AND! With the book releasing this coming week, I suspect we will know if we have need for a scatter die or not in just a few days. (Right, GCPD?) If we have something that needs one we might need to summon the Spawning of Bob to help us out once more.
Thanks for coordinating with Chessex. By the way I don't think 22-mm is too big. I use casino dice sometimes and they are bigger than that. If we get custom lizard dice I am in. I like the ones I made but have noticed the design scratches off pretty easily even with the 'ardcoat on it. :-(
EDIT: First of all - EXCITED! /edit 22mm isn't too big, IMO. It does say you can get 20mm as well, which may be preferable. As for colour, lets not go plain white or black! They'll definitely have a range of colours, even for the multi customisation dies. The last batch were beautiful, can't wait to see the samples.
I think a bright color such as blue or green with gold markings would be fun. If we are stuck with black/white I vote black with gold trim.
A darker green/gold mix would be sweet, but so would the red/gold or blue/gold (I have some custom red and blue mixed with gold and they are sweet).
I know I am in on the Artillery Dice. I may even throw in some for another set of the custom dice. I love my custom dice.
Count me in for artillery dice! If there is an option for custom D6, count me in on that too. I find I can never have too many dice.
