Re: Dice Pledges: Closed Haha, ok. Glad to know there are some hungry Salamanders in the audience. I'll keep everyone posted on the spare dice issue. Just keep in mind that the original pledgees have final say on their dice. I think a yearly order would be doable.
Re: Dice Pledges: Closed Yay! Every year if the Skinks are really good, Scaly Claws will put dice in their stockings round Christmas time! I'm sure SoB can come up with a better joke with a comic to go with it.
Re: Dice Pledges: Closed New designs every year? That could kill several of us. I wouldn't down play the effort that Qupakoco has put in on logistics, either. I'm now going to contradict myself several times. EVERY year will mean less volume and more price. Maybe we should aim for with release of 9th Ed and new Army books - Lustria online will always get a surge of traffic at those times. BUT we should maybe do a followup run in the nearish future to scoop up those who missed out this time for whatever reason AND I'm still happy to be involved even if it is every year EVEN though I probably won't have lost 50 dice by then. DON'T FORGET opportunities to design other hardware for the community. Dice Boxes, templates, measurey thingies.
Re: Dice Pledges: Closed Newer dice? That all depends on how well these roll. What I would suggest for more frequent dice orders is to narrow the scope of options. Maybe a new D6 every year, and other options only showing up every new lizard book. -Matt
Re: Dice Pledges: Closed Almost every time that I use my last set of Custom Lizardmen dice, I get accused of having loaded dice. Lots of 5s and 6s.
Re: Dice Pledges: Closed Funny you should mention that as I was accused of this too. So I did something about it.... I own 24 of the dice from the prior order. 12 in Lustrous Green and 12 in Scarab Jade. I rolled each dice 100 times and recorded the results. I ensured each roll was similar, letting the dice bounce off of an object first like at a Craps Table. My test determined the following: Scarab Jade Mean: 3.500 (I was shocked too) Mode: 2 Lustrous Green Mean: 3.512 Mode: 3 Overall Mean: 3.506 Mode: 2, 4 Percent Breakdown of each number rolled: 1's - 389 - 16.21% 2's - 412 - 17.17% 3's - 387 - 16.13% 4's - 412 - 17.17% 5's - 408 - 17.00% 6's - 392 - 16.33% (rounding errors gives 100.01%) Total - 2400 rolls Additionally, if a die had a mode of 6, I re-did the test to see if it was repeatable. In the two cases where this occurred, the first die had a new mode of 1 and the second die had a mode of 3. Therefore, I fully believe that the dice I own are fair. It seems that the Lustrous Green dice would be slightly weighted, but this was only in 100 rolls. It could very easily swing the opposite way if I were to repeat the test. And yes, I was bored.
Re: Dice Pledges: Closed The next time that I am accused of weighted dice, I will tell them that i had them tested.
Re: Dice Pledges: Closed Aww, you guys flatter me Luckily the USPS doesn't have different shipping prices out of Alaska. The only real issue is the sizes of the packages that I'm going to be sending out. Someone needs to keep the Northern Polar Warp Gate in check.
Re: Dice Pledges: Closed Let me know if I'm the only one who thought this. In addition to running lots of Salamanders and Razordons, I'm thinking of going Fire Slann (or swapping lots of High magic spells for Fire) for my debut game primarily to have an excuse to roll lots of d3s on Piercing Bolts of Burning. Can I get a tail slap or head bob on this?
Re: Dice Pledges: Closed I'm speeking with chessex now as I want to order my own pare of dice I'm playing on a carnosaur head with jaw open for the 6 to represent primal fury ideas?
Re: Dice Pledges: Closed Doh, I wish I'd bought two different colours of the large "number dice" Green for magical buffs and red for debuffs would be handy!
