8th Ed. Digital Army Book Questions?

I'm currently working out of town at the moment and will be doing so for the next week but I'm incredibly anxious to get my hands on the new book. I've got my iPad with me and am considering just purchasing the digital edition. I've never bought a digital army book in the past and I typically like having a hard copy but I'm leaning towards getting this digital edition. Can anyone who has purchased the digital edition let me know their input on it?

Specifically, I want to know if:

-You can bookmark certain pages for quick reference
-It provides 360 degree digital pictures
-It provides quick rule reference
-It provides any type of list builder.

These things aren't imperative but would probably solidify my decision to purchase the digital edition. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't own a full digital army book, but I have a couple little things like the Storm of Magic Terradon Scroll of Binding on my iPad.

- If you can bookmark a page, I'm not sure how. But it does zoom out to a large page/section reference. Kind of like how you can switch between main pages on an Android phone just by clicking on the relevant dot.

- Yes, 360 view on the picture in here.

- Sort of has a quick rule reference. It has all the special rules listed just like in the regular army book listing and some SoM rules.

- No list builder on this one.

Hope that helps. There are a couple people who have bought the ebook I think. Look through the mega-rumor thread in the 80's and 90's pages. I think that's where people mention they purchased it.

I find this is the best feature of the digital army books. You can click on any special rule anywhere in the book and it will show you that special rules entry from the brb. Very handy to make quick reference on special rules.

Also it good to know that any erratas done will be automatically updated for the digital edition.
Will get the physical book at some point as well though I find it's easier to make quick checks with a physical copy.

I have the iPad edition and love it.

1. 360 pix...absolutely. Plenty of them and they look great.
2. As was stated earlier, there are links to rules in army writeup. Love that feature. It also has the ability to do a keyword (or partial keyword) search.
3. Has the quick reference for the army at the back just like the hard copy.
4. No list builder, and I wouldn't really expect that. Personally I use the Quartermaster app on my iPad for that. I used to use Army Builder but got tired of waiting an extra month for the army list to be updated. QM is update by users and it is really easy to build/modify a template yourself within the app. Highly recommend it.

They have the Army Book for other platforms too. It is just an eBook at that point though. Don't think they have the interactive features of the iPad. I think they are just basically the codex in digital form. I personally haven't used that format yet though so don't know for sure.

I cannot find the Lizardmen army book as an ebook. Could be I'm looking in the wrong place, but it seems that the ebook stuff is all on the Black Library website and it is expanding but still mostly 40K stuff.

I'm willing to buy the book twice, as I prefer to have a hardcover book but I would like an ebook as well. Not an apple guy, never will be. GW won't be getting my money for any apple platform products, so I hope they continue to expand their ebook collection. The ebook prices all seem pretty good, tbh. $33 for army book/codex/rule only 40K BRB.

If anybody has a link to the digital storefront with the Lizardmen ebook, please share.

Thanks so much for all the input guys. I went ahead and bought the digital version. So far I'm very impressed with it. I really like the quick rules reference. I'll probably be more willing to purchase a future release through iTunes. This is a pretty quality product but I've got to say that i'm pretty disappointed in the lack of original art. Most of the artwork is the same from the previous book only with color added.
