Or does their M4 slow the whole army down since everything else has a Movement rate of 6 or better?
 
Depends which version you use, the lazordons don't mind getting left behind a bit, and you can always use tetto eko to move them up FAST.
 
Since you don't want them on point anyway, them coming up to the line a turn later is fine.
 
Being a bit slower allows you to maximize the use of their bound spell.
