Oh it's no longer about logic, that got tossed aside when we started to flip avatars up side down, I suppose :p

Except that both of these are true, as far as I remember ;) Something about the desert sand of Australia makes up better beaches and camels, as pendrake said, are used for racing

However I might just be making stuff up at this point :D

OK, so when central Australia was being opened up to put a telegraph line from the southern population centres through to the rest of the world, Afghan cameleers were brought in to assist. The camels they brought with them were the nicest ones with the longest eyelashes. Many escaped and went wild. The feral population here is actually a better class of camel than the breeding camels in the old world, hence they are exported for racing in the Middle East.

When you have Australian camels on Australian beaches, the awesomeness compounds.

I was wondering if that was the case? Suppose I have been spelling the fruit, the bird and the folk wrong this entire time :eek:
