I hope that thing it's roughly the size of Wild Safari Postosuchus... And here how it looks without the silly hanging flesh bits
Needs a Skink hanging onto the tip of the tail for dear life! I'll admit it doesn't look as good as the artwork, but I sitll want one! I'll have to convince one of the local painting gurus to paint it for me though, I couldn't waste a model like that on my own skills!
I felt like the same...but then I changed my mind: Its too expensive and I dont feel like rewarding work Im not 100% into. Im looking for alternative models -.-
Well at those prices I could just get one of these Acrocanthosaurus or Dilophosaurus. http://creative-beast.com/?page_id=40 they are about the same size (as far as I can tell), and for roughly 1/2 the price.
not sure im tricking myself, but dosnt that tail look bigger than the painted one!? also...........DAAAAMN its big! Edit: .....just now I realise just how much the angle on the painted picture makes it look smaller? anyone but me who actually likes it now? Edit...2: .. All of a sudden I feel happy: I think I can work with this! Give me a battlescroll for standardplay and its a deal!
It looks like a rat. Large back haunches, big head, the size of the tail and general posture. It's a scaled furless rat. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_c0mTqLyzOBo/TLcO2caIm1I/AAAAAAAAAFM/Pe_jEyddyGE/s1600/rat+scan.jpg I could never field it in my force. It's just such a strange shape. The details on it are all gorgeous individually but as a whole its silhouette/image/posture is that of a giant spikey rat, not a tamed/unleashed lizard monster. Bit of fur textured greenstuff and this would make a fine Skaven piece. I'm disapointed.
+1 to what Moniker said. The price isn't bad compared to other models *cough Carnosaur cough cough* but it is Fugly! Does anyone have any ideas for alternative models?
I agree with Moniker, and will add that I am disappointed by how it doesn't really seem to fit the style of the rest of the range. The tacked-on armor/glyphs really end up feeling like someone saw the model being developed and said "Oh crap. That looks nothing like the book and also nothing like the other models in the army. Um...quick...slap some symbols on it." Neat model, but not really the "Lizardmen Dread Saurian."
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/News/dread_saurian.html here is a link from where it will be sold in the near future
Really not a fan of this, it doens't even look like a Lizardmen model... It looks like a a toy model from some weird kids show with glyphs glued onto it to make it a lizardman, like a conversion. The general shape of the body is just off... It looks like it can walk on neither four nor two legs, the tail is still too small, the "armor" is odd and clunky and more like a belt and necklace than actual protection, ridiculous overbite,... Pff...
Actually, on 2nd thought - with some minor repositioning it could look decent. I don't like the rat like pose of it, but some work at the angles to have it more upright could do the trick. On the other hand, I don't like having to do any conversion work on a model I spend $225 for
for around $35 this guys seems like a great substiture (same size). http://www.nothingbutdinosaurs.com/...aur-toy-replica-model-figure-collectible.html
At last i got this guy and monster arcanum book (and a small Forge sign for free, lol). https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-TKCHTIJfWlE/U5AbVm0a4nI/AAAAAAAAChg/9YBJtuhOWds/w962-h541-no/DSC_0001.JPG https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-f73Jy7LRf6Y/U5AbXP7su7I/AAAAAAAAChs/-xKavTNlxkQ/w962-h541-no/DSC_0002.JPG https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-IOMlWJkUHBU/U5AbYsL1rxI/AAAAAAAACh4/mK_M6tgi1Xo/w962-h541-no/DSC_0003.JPG He is really HUGE and nicely detailed.
