Here’s my first attempt at painting anything!!

I grab this little skeleton from the grocery store came in a clay egg, it served 3 purpose

1 for I daughter to enjoy cracking open
2 for the practice
3 for the tools that came with lol



Don’t mind the crappy mould line.... thought I took those off oh well

The reason this all started

When I first started to look at warhammer in general i wasn’t too sure where to start... I was more into fantasy then 40K I knew that, they are cool but when you look at seraphon etc I mean that was more for me.... now I was debating to go with the Soul Wars box or (as it was just about to come out) Warcry. So that’s right bought both of them. Warcry for the terrain and the smaller size game to hopefully introduce my wife to it... that been said I haven’t play a game yet. And then I saw a nice painted seraphon army in a store and fell in love with them got a SC box and then 2nd hand perhaps 3-4,9 knights and 21 warriors and the one I actually wanted 3 salamanders and there 9 skinks but like the previous owner will probably just paint 3 will see.

So my seraphon army will have:
1 carnosaur
1 converted troglodon I’m thinking coming out of water cave... will see
20 knights
1-2 scar vet on cold one
30 warriors
1 Astrolith bearer
1-2 sunblood/oldblood
3 salamanders/skinks

My Saurus getting ready to take a bath in LA totally awesome.... it’s awesome btw (I live in canada was surprise to find it but glad)



One salamander bath complete and reassembled!!



One last one to compare a Saurus to that small triceratops



I think I may have got myself in trouble.... with all those models will see I guess... time will tell hahaha

Hi guys, quick update!!

I was able to spend some time this week paiting so I attack the terrain first!! Got most of it done bigger pieces anyway!!

Anyone that play warcry should recognize this picture!!

Now can anyone notice the difference in between these 2 building and which one looks the best? With and without the light




Little extra detail on the arch



All my building are magnetized, they a build to match the cards in the game but in 2 pieces for easier transport and all the top come off as well!!



And gave the stair some extra support and didn’t glue them giving extra opportunity for placement!!




The building are mostly completed, got some work still to do with the bell tower, the head statue, scatter terrain that’s not in the picture, fences and some wood piece!!

Once completed I’ll attack the warband or maybe start trying to paint the Saurus!! Time will tell...

On another note I got extra parts online aka carno body (so I’ll build both beast) and the rider body so I’ll be able to build not only a great looking oldblood/sunblood but a skinkpriest too or some like that’s...

I have similar terrain (from some set) but I will paint it much more plain.

Those stairs are cool, I will have to build some myself.

Yeah the terrain wasn’t that hard and come to think of it I may have push it too hard for some reasons, first well to practice as I’m just starting I figure if I screw up terrain a little it wouldn’t matter much and second well it will look better maybe too good compare to the mini ohho....

Pick 2 color to create a blend, I spray a brown to cover most of it from below and then a kaki dusting from above to have a nice transition ( kinda works good flip it up spray brown and once dry flip it up right and dust it up) then a wash follow by a dry brush and call it a day.
That’s pretty much what I did on the main part and then took it a step further by highlight a few ( ok the brick were a frickin pain to do and maybe over board but I have a plan)keys pieces within just to had a bit of pop!!

the bell tower is currently driving me nuts with all the wood, bricks, bell, metal pieces and base building I can’t touch cause I can’t fix... well I suppose I could but that would mean starting all over again big no no...lol

As for the stair I added the L below for support from sprue moulding and pin it at both end paying attention to the terrain it would go against aka the statue head been the reason there different and wanted and different look not that it matter much...

Down the road I may (big MAY here) do more overhang/bridge pieces of sprue left over pieces.... may drive me nuts not matching so will see

Not much update but I did received my hoardobits order!!

Extra body’s one for the trogl and skinks, and a saurus boss of some kind!! With extra bits (banners,shield,etc)!! I’m still unsure if it was worth it as it wasn’t much cheaper then a SC box.... well it was probably 30% cheaper give or take, I did get different size bases as well but those were on the cheaper side of things.

Very please with the order so far!!

Little update,

Keep chugging along with painting the terrain, if I keep at it I should be done for this month that been said idk about protecting coat but that’s ok!!

What do you think of this piece?!? It’s just base coated for now


Here’s whats mostly left to do.... it take longer then anticipated!! Oh well I’ll count it under practice!! Hehehe



On a side note I did just acquired a bunch of SCE I know there not a fan around but that’s ok there in different state of construction (I honestly think the guys that did this to them didn’t like SCE either) joke a side I score big for little $

35 liberators
10 castigators
10 paladins
9-12 prosecutors
One of each : Knight-Venator, Knight-incantor,lord-exorcist, lord-veritant, lord-arcanum on Gryph

Some have head swap that kinda look cool he worked on a couple different paint schemes some are cool would be hard to duplicate I think but will see I may just finish them off or try and call it a day don’t need to match my stuff I suppose, anyway here a couple pic

Some the primer is so bad the detail is going away I’ll have to try to strip them!!

Oh and got a big bag of spare parts!!! That’s always welcome should be able to fix most of them couple are missing legs etc mostly weapon or broken weapon I should say!!

Another project I suppose!!

There pretty neat I got a group of 10 liberator and 5+1 paladins with head swaps!!

Nice! I just wish Bretonia weren't so damn expensive... I have found a couple of aftermarket companies that make cool knight helmets, but there is something awesome and classic about the Bretonia ones

At first I was like meh why would someone do that.... but now I’m like there cool looking!! Where can I get more of those heads lol... especially the deer antler one
