Contest Entry thread: The Feathered Serpent comp. (apr-jun)

Hah, didn't notice this was here. I have multiple (non Lizardman admittedly) Warhammer Fantasy character models in my project pipeline right now I could have entered for this, but currently they are still grey and unpainted, and with only a couple of days ago until the deadline and me still stuck working on a different project at this point, there is more chance of a camel emerging through the eye of a needle than me being able to undercoat, paint and wash even one of those character models to completion in time.

However, I notice that one can submit an entry that was painted up to a year ago from the end date of this contest, in this case, something painted as far back as 1st June 2023 - in which case, I bring forth a character model who is more of an enemy to the Great Plan than a champion: Illuminor Tutepri, my Necron Geomancer I painted last July:

Hey, he's a hero of the Necrons and 'Heroes' is the operative word of the theme, so here he is!

It is, but entrants are not restricted to Lizardmen models only, so technically any hero model can compete. Besides, in worlds of magic and sci-fi like those of Warhammer, all manner of portals and sorcery can be conjured up to explain why characters from outside of Lustria (including Lizardmen from AoS, as Lustria no longer exists in the Mortal Realms ;)) turned up there...

Behold, Acalan the Lone Maw

A mighty warrior of the Mazatec Tribes, Acalan once roamed the jungles of Lustria astride his ferocious carnosaur. Together, they kept the borders of Spektazuma safe from intruders who would encroach on their lands and steal the golden relics of the Seraphon.
However, their reign did not last. A surprise ambush from the hated Skaven brought Acalan's carnosaur low, slaying his faithful steed with virulent poison. Enraged, the Oldblood single handedly slaughtered every rat that dared approach their lands. Far from the Temple-City and alone in the jungle, Acalan honoured his carnosaur by stripping a piece of hide and scales, fashioning a shield that would be brought to bear against their foes for years to come.
 
This is Gor-Itza - a venerated Saurus Old Blood who marches with the shadowy second slann of New Itza, Itzanotl. Gor-Itza is bearer of the Blade of Realities and is always first onto the battlefield in any fight where his services are called upon.
Currently the pair are joined with a saurus scar vet cowboy, Itza-ztap, in a quest for unseen power in the Marshes of Madness. The lizardmen host landed, erroneously, on the coast of the Border Princes, and has been fighting their way eastwards, before turning south and starting their quest in earnest. Still wow, but this time I was looking at the mini closely because of voting. I have to tell you, that you made me scratch my head for about 15 minutes before I realised that it is kitbashed astrolith :D Great job.
