Fantasy newbie! Please help me make a lizardmen list!

Hi! I've never played fantasy and I am transitioning from 40k. I decided I wanted to play lizard men cause they look so awesome! Any tips on a starting list? I was thinking about 2 units of Saurus warriors a steg a unit of temple guard a slann like 30 skinks a unit of cold ones and a unit of salamanders? Any tips would be much appreciated! Total newbie so please help!

Anyway, glad you came to us for help. However, for us to really help you, you have to give us some more information.
What is the maximum points level for this army? Are you on a budget? Is it a campaign, are you just starting, is the army themed?

Try to make an army list and post it here, then we can comment on it.

Honestly don't know much about fantasy so I'll say 250 -300$ in Nedxt few mOnths like 100$ this week

That sounds pretty strong from what I've heard only question, ancient steg with engine of the gods or regular steg?

You should model your stegadon so that it could be an EOTG or a Skink Chief with the warspear. You can also model it so that you can take it as either an ancient (blowpipes) or regular steg (giant bow).

Personally, I never take just a regular steg. The rules for the giant bow prohibit you from moving and shooting (IIRC). The blowpipes from the ancient are much better in my opinion. However, mostly, I just take the EOTG or Skink Chief (owns HE with their ASF).

Also do salamanders come with just one and crew in a box?

Each sally will come with 3 handlers and the salamander. You can convert an extra handler from a regular skink. However, I run my sallies in units of 2 with 6 total handlers (3 from each sally). Since the unit shares the handlers, you really do not need the extra handler. If one sally is killed and you are left with all 6 of the handlers, you keep them with the unit.
