Breathtaking! I have no idea how to vote. These are all incredible beyond words!

SQUEEEE-

Seriously. I love you guys.

My smile cracked open wider with each entry. I thought four votes was too much, now I think it's too little.

Personal highlights:

  • Lord Xhaltan in his visual debut (possibly my first fan art? which makes me feel incredibly inept about updating the story. As such I'm not sure I could vote for it ;) )
  • the imaginative use of mediums, especially (but not exclusively) mascara, self-loathing, pain, blood. I have a personal bias towards acryllics but I'm mightily impressed by the talent in Photoshop that abounds this forum.
  • Comics! I was hoping for at least one. Nice to see a fellow fan of SMBC is one of them too, and they managed to perfectly capture how I imagine the Old Ones acted.
  • Bob finally achieving nirvana in Pokemon form
  • the finished reveal of the "The Golden Snark"
  • the high level of talent generally that can be achieved through pencils, permanent markers, and pencils.

With that sickening gushing over let me pick up my objectivity and start judging. Expect my my final decision in about....a month.

These are all incredible beyond words!
1 picture = 1000 words, 15 x 1000 = 15000 words - it is technically feasible to use words to do the pictures justice, but more practical to use votes.

I'm not saying it is any easier, though. I have about seven that I can't not vote for, and another eight that I would vote for, if it wasn't for the other 7.

If there was an option for "Vote for 'em all and let Aartzifartzi sort 'em out", I would take it.

the imaginative use of mediums, especially (but not exclusively) mascara, self-loathing, pain, blood.
Umm, yes. I had to guess some of the media, or go by what had been discussed in the comp thread, for example:
Because I hate myself I went from digital to traditional for the picture. and Yes, they have pants
If anyone wants to update any of the info in the spoilers, let me know.

Aaaand that's not going to work out. It is a shorter voting timeframe - 16 days - to get things back in synch with the writing comps from now on.

well, since I did not make it in time (I have billion excuses) and I think all of these are awesome, I just cannot vote and will just snuggle up into my shell.
Or vote later after someone gives me reassurance it will not hurt anyone's feelings .)

Vote, you don't have to enter the comp to show appreciation for these gorgeous works!
So cast your vote and boost our egos!

Ah holy quango eggs this is intense. I really feel like this forum's members should give up their personal lives and all go live on an island as an elite creative collective of artists and writers.

After some consideration my votes are probably going to everyone

Warden for spaaaaaace
Hyperborean for epiiiiiiic
Details/n810 for colourrrrrr
Sauric Ace for lols, always vote for the lols (and such perfectly executed lols, too!)

Runners up: everyone!

Bob - really strong. but I couldn't do two space ones, and warden's slann takes up more of the page so he clinches it (wut? I iz hi-brow)
Pendrake - patterns! lovely lovely patterns! could have been improved by even more Escher :D
Bowser - curiously insightful and thought provoking. who are you and what have you done with bowser? (actually now that I think about it your written work is also quite perceptive....do you have a doppelganger who does your comp entries for you?!)

OK so I'm going to stop now before I get through everyone, which I could easily do because I literally loved all of them except mine which was smelly and awful and stupid.

---

OK I'm going to do everyone because they deserve it:

Phoendinn - staggering. insane skillz (have you considered going pro?)
Little-myth - phenomenal sense of movement/power
Assassin - sooooo sinister
neveroddoreven - adore this, want poster
dwarfepic - so simple. so satisfying.
scalanex - on point
infinity turtle - aw they're so lovely and adorab- *glances around nervously* ahem. I mean bah humbug I'm a serious writer person who writes serious writing stuff.
