So is it anti-shine as in a fully matt finish? Does it do a sufficient job in preventing paint chipping on metal models?

I've not had a problem with mine but I am very careful, for the best protection apply a gloss lacquer followed by 2 coats of matt.

And yes it is fully matt

Same here. I have bought the GW varnish, and I will try it. On one or two small models first.

Make sure you shake it for a few minutes

AEGIS Suit from Army painter or again testors

I used to use Testors when I was in the US. But army painter is cheaper to get hold of here, so I switched to that.
