8th Ed. Finecast Carnosaur: What Glue?

cyanhawk said:
I called GW today and they are sending me a new carnosaur model as well. Ill let you all know how it looks next week. The customer service guy told me repeatedly that the mold is just broken and they all come out that way and that he fixed his with a file and some green stuff.

... so I ask again, exactly what is the advantage of failcast? We are getting inferior products at an inflated price.
Glad you stuck to your guns and didn't accept the rubbish excuse that they are all like that. GW should NOT be trying to talk people into accepting faulty 'premium' products.

I agree. I would like to see the report that let them justify a price hike for using cheaper production materials. Of course we do pay a ridiculous amount of money for the regular plastic models as well. Over all its probably cheaper to have a drug habit some weeks.

I think the reason that FineCyst are so expensive is that they have to replace 2 or 3 sales before a customer is worn down enough to accept the remain flaws on the model.

The link between cost and GW's recommended retail pricing is shown to be non-existent (at least in Aus, not quite so bad elsewhere) is shown by the difference in Forgeworld products in different locations. If a Forgeworld product is more expensive in the UK due to higher production costs, why is is cheaper in other regions?

I got my new carnosaur in last night. I haven't cleaned off the extra bits of resin yet but from what I can tell the tail fits just fine now.

I dont feel quite as bad for spending 65 dollars on it now that I got a replacement for free. I need to start playing some 5000 point games so I can take all 3 of my dinos at the same time. :walkingdead:
