Great colors! Looks good - keep those photos coming! I love the two stegs charging at each other. Should have a female in the background waiting to mate with the winner :)

Very nice looking skinks! They look cold!

Stegadons have too many bone protrusions, I'm never painting these again. >_<

You have nothing to complain about until you are putting 5 layers of highlight on each individual scale like I did with mine! :P The bone is nothing.

Having said that, it is a large and extremely detailed kit, it certainly is very easy to miss bits when you are painting a certain colour. I found I had to tackle it in small sections with a chance of a break between each section if I needed it. Keep at it! The beast will be one of the main centrepieces of your army!

Is that the old metal one on the left and the plastic one on the right? How to they compare size-wise? I have both, but the plastic one is still on the sprues at the moment.

My cutoff is three highlights per color.

The plastic one is definitely more large and in charge. The metal one only has the bits for a regular stegadon, and since he's smaller he fits the role nicely. Mines gonna have some basic conversion on it so I can run two ancients.

is that a ancient calendeer in the background? cool steggs btw,
lustria

Ancient resin yeah. It's gonna be a terrain centerpiece eventually. Got that one off ebay because it had Quetzalcoatl heads. ^_^

Hey look, you guys get a sneak preview of my salamanders.
If you r-click > view image, you can see the hi-res. Isn't that handy?

Those stegadon bases are phenomenal! Did you make those?

They're the jungle bases from micro-art studios. I placed a sizeable order with them so I wouldn't feel guilty about casting and copying the bases as needed. It doesn't make sense to sand down and destroy large portions of the original base to stick the stegadons on, so I'm keeping most of the order to use as masters.

They're polish, so the order could take a while to arrive. My first order got "lost" by customs, but throughout the whole ordeal the company seemed to have a good head on its shoulders. After two long the replacement shipment arrived and all was well. I actually got a single base from the first order, so I emailed them with a "wtf is this?" and they actually knew enough about what went on in their shop to tell me exactly what happened, someone dropped my box, they realized later that it got sent out with a base missing, so they sent out the base solo, and that's the only part of the original order that made it to me.

Anyway, their bases are amazing, despite the whole unusual ordeal I'm glad I got them.
