    No pictures? :(

Under two hours for a full game sounds pretty good, most of my games last closer to 3 (or even 4). On the whole was it a bit faster paced than a normal warhammer 8th ed. game?

@Warden pics next battle promise, never played 8th but it's faster than AOS so it will be faster than 8th, once we know our armies and rules I'd say an hour and a half for a 1250 game.

Kings of war is a *lot* faster to play than 8th. Experienced players can comfortably manage a game at 2000 points(tournament standard, and roughly equivalent to the 2400 point 8th ed game) with 45 minutes each on the clock, and even beginners won't be in too much trouble with 1 hour each. By comparison I often found that even with three and a half/four hours in a club night I'd be struggling to finish a game of 8thed. I can easily get in two games of KoW, and still not be rushing to finish and pack up before getting thrown out.
As I said elsewhere, one of my favourite aspects of it is it's management of timed games, which are an inalienable part of tournament play and quite common even for casual games, and one of the ways it manages this is by allowing for fast-paced game play.

To be fair, my first game of KoW was rather long, but that was with me and my opponent taking our time to think about the consequence of every action as we were new to the game, i think that just the deployment probably took more than 1h30, with the rest of the game taking ~ 2 hours (still less that if we have played a similar game with Warhammer 8th edition)

Good to know, thanks for all the tips @Crowsfoot, @Tecuani, @Jack Trowell ! Sounds like a really good company to start looking into, I may wind up buying a rulebook if I can find it for cheap online.

Look at all this interest that @Crowsfoot has stirred up. To be fair @Itepixcauh deserves quite a bit of credit as well.

Yeah, it seems like I planted a small seed of revolution in the heart of the AoS fans...

I always wanted to play warhammer but my son found 8th to complex, AOS came out and he could understand most of it we were aware of KOW but didn't look at it until you started posting info about the game, now I have bought all 3 books and I have read the rule book 3 times cover to cover, read most of the Uncharted Empire skipping armies that don't interest me.

I love it and can't wait to really get my teeth into the army lists.

Anything that weakens the status of AoS is a great thing in my eyes... keep at it!
