can a character on chariot join a unit with chariots?

No, no they can't unless they have a special rule permitting it

 

so we didn't get the black letters to say this but we have the named character with the mask that say this .... what we do we never play the mask ?

 

They will faq it so skink chiefs on rippers or terradons will be able to join units.

 

It was missed out of the book and will hopefully be FAQ'd


The mask of heavens does still work, there is always one Terradon (Zwup) in the unit to benefit from the WS upgrade and a single character is still a unit so still gets -1 to hit


HOWEVER, within the current rule set it is not possible for tiktaqto or a skink chief riding a Terradon or ripper, to join a unit of terradons or rippers.
Stop trying to justify it with incorrect rule interpretations and then ignore them and move once you are shown to be wrong. It will only cause less experienced and newer players to be confused and understand a rule incorrectly.

For clarity:
A character cannot join a unit of flyers without a special exception
A character on a chariot cannot join other chariots without a special exception, nor can they join any other unit
A character on a monster cannot join monster unit or any other units

 

Now im not sure about then rules but they aren't they flying cavalry not flyers ?? Is there no difference ?

 

No difference.

Flying cav are fast cav with the fly special rule.
