The only prob I see with putting the Skink Chief with the Skaven Banner in a unit of TG is he is on a 20mm base and would have to stick out to the side. So while he would gain the Stubborn of the unit he would be a target in CC. What would a frenzied Slann be like?

I am playing a 3000 point game this Sunday and plan on trying the Skink Chief mounted on a Horned One and running with 10 Cold One Cav and a couple of Scar Vets, I will post how it goes.

Definately post how it goes! What about giving the skaven pelt to the TG unit itself and then give the Slann his typical SoD banner. That way no dealing with skink chief and slann can have his own boogie going down.

The only problem is that it is a Skink Only Banner, so the plan's a no-go.

And SanDiego: Give him a Spear!!! +1 S on the charge? Hell yeah!

Which magic banner will you put on the Cold One Cav unit banner itself? Armor piercing or flaming? Sounds like a nice deathstar unit!

Hmm, if your going against skaven I'd take flame banner. It causes fear in his beast units (giant rats) and will nulify his HPA's coming back rule. Str5 on the charge should be enough to negate most armour skaven have and str 4 not on the charge will still drop it to around 6 anyways, if not negating totally.

So I tried this out in a 2400 point game yesterday to great success.

I placed the skink chief in a horde of 40+ Saurus Warriors w/ FC, spears and a Scar Vet w/ Sword of Strife. Because of the width of the unit the chief was outside of combat and I still was getting 60+ attacks when charged if the enemy was similar width.

I had my lore of light slann casting timewarp on the unit every round to increase the attacks even more and they just devastated my opponent's graveguard deathstar (something like 40 gg w/ Mannfred and BSB w/ regen banner), if he hadn't hit my flank with a fully upgraded black coach in the 3rd round and getting a full 7 wounds from impact hits the game would have been all but over right then. As it was I still caused a massacre with him only getting 72 points to my 2400.

I think if I field the list again I might place gorrok in there instead of the vet just to ensure they're stubborn in case I go up against a skaven bell unit and luck is against me for a round.

While it's going to take a lot of dice, if a Skrox unit(s) has both Speed of Light (I10) and Time Warp (ASF), the Krox will be going at I10 which will put them ahead of anything that doesn't have ASF (or a KoS, which would strike simultaneously).
