I've no idea either, perhaps they wanted to create something more unique then dino human hybrids, but to be honest I prefer them that way.
And speaking of fifth ed...
Thanks again for all the help, I'm currently getting loads of ideas from a couple of good websites (links below).
I've also been working more on the Oxayotl GD piece and have some photos which I hope people like.
I got some solid feedback on warseer to make some changes to the weapon end.
Some here are the links, I think I'm going to follow the path I did with the last AOW sculpt and stick with inspiration, designs and ideas from pre- Colombian civilizations. I'll do my best to apply these styles to the weapon and replace the end parts on it.
If however you have something else in mind then please let me know.

Here's a small update with the finished Oxayotl and a break down of the processes used to sculpt him.
If needs be I can upload the bottom four photos individually so they will be larger.
Sculpted in scale with the GW chameleon skinks.

Wow! This sculpt is amazing. I love the animated pose and have been an fan since your last AOW champ which I painted up as Nakai. Looking forward to seeing how these turn out for sure. Keep up the good work Rikard! The long hours you put in are definitely appreciated.

I know, once again a severe lack of updates proves I suck. :c
I have just about finished the Krox though, waiting on Felix for feed back and changes where necessary, also talking about the possibilities of other LM pieces and designs, will keep you all posted as and when I get details.

Sorry to everyone about the quietness, but I finally have some news for you all.
Felix has got back to me, unfortunately the Kroxigor cannot be cast, it's too large for his range.
I hope none of you are angry or too disappointed, it's my fault for getting carried away and not paying enough attention to size constraints.
The mini will however, be going to Troll forged miniatures who will be casting it in resin/plastic instead.
I have begun work on an alternative lizardman instead for Felix and avatars of war. I've been looking at the thorny devil Lizard for inspiration and so will be adding in plenty of spikes and scales, but will change the style and look of them from previous pieces.

Well the old one will be available just from troll forged and not avatars of war.
Been busy on saturday getting more of the pose and more of the style completed and here's what I've come up with so far.
The weapon is still heavily a WIP, was thinking about adding serrated teeth along opposite sides of each end of the weapon, as well as adding in some more details along the center of the bar.
I hope at least I can finish the hands today and then shift my attention either to the tail or the back.
The hands will be short and broad
The forward arm will be clenched in a fist, though not sure whether it should be hitting the ground or just touching it. I have worked on details for a forearm guard, something which ends with a punching/stabbing gauntlet to cover the arm, but not sure if this is feesable due to the fact the arm will be touching the surface, any thoughts on this?

I really like the sculpt, the hulking posture and big arms. Only problem is that when you look at that model, there's no way it can only have a Strength value of 4... Well, it's not your fault. Keep up the good work!
