Hey guys!

This is Denis from Bavaria, Germany. I am 33 years old and just started Warhammer three days ago. I have never played Tabletop Games before...also I have never painted a miniature in my life.

I couldn’t resist checking out my local hobbystore and I completely fell in Love with this game. I am a roleplay veteran but never thought this hobby was that cool :)

So I bought my first „Start Collecting“ Set from the Seraphon.

I will post regularly every new paint job and so on.

But today I want to show you my first ever painted miniature. Hope you like it and I am also very thankful for critics.

That is an excellent start, I like how you have given him red rage eyes and nice basing.

Keep the pics coming.

Welcome!
You almost have the same backstory as I have, only that you live a bit further east (I am from BaWü).

Your model looks great, good start! :)

Thank you guys! Makes me happy that you like my painting skills so far.
The miniature you see is only one of two paint dummies. Actually I am painting the second warrior but in a different scheme.

Afterwards I will decide which colors I use for my Saurus Warriors :)

BaWü is just around the corner ;-)

Can I ask you something ? Where do you get these nice looking Forum Avatars ? Just Google ?

Mine is lazy googling and a bit of cropping.
...that reminds me that I could replace it with something more original...

But there are also one or two artists who draw funny avatars here on the forum.

Alright guys!

This is my second test dummy for my Saurus Warrior Scheme. What do you think ?

Where do I have to improve the most ?
This is my second ever painted Mini

I think you need some contrast, maybe add a stripe to the shield or change the colour.

The miniature isn’t finished yet.
But you are right...especially on the shield there is a lack of contrast.

Any other things to mention ?

I quite like the colour scheme, are you inlaying the weapon?

I think the warrior has enough contrast but and I'm guilty of this as well his eyes are too human.

It that seriously your second ever painted miniature?! That's amazing!

Thats pretty awesome. My models still don't have pupils in their eyes...

Indeed... that are two nicely painted saurus... I think I like the second one more, because it further away from the GW original...

This was just a test model. I still don’t know what to do about the weapon.

To be honest I really like the original ones from GW. But I bought me the Seraphon Battletome yesterday and there are some really nice color schemes.
I think my Seraphon will be a mix between my last one which is a bit darker and the GW Modell.

I really like the red stripe on the scales ;)

I think the weapon would look better if it wasn't just one color.
I did the GW style thing and painted the inner parts black (or dark grey). I mixed in a tiny bit of silver to try and make them look a bit cooler.
The idea behind it is that it is a special sort of stone, similar to granite which is very hard and also glitters a bit.
The advantage of the dark color is that it creates a nice contrast to the gold.

Welcome aboard !

Let me start by saying that your first miniatures are just impressive. You are off to an amazing start good job !
I agree with @Aginor a second color in the weapon would give it more depth.
Some highlight in the face as well maybe to make it stand out even more.
