Have people had luck painting furs? I have seen a couple people who have painted the Skaven fur on their scar-vet and was wondering how people do it. i am having trouble not making it look just brown. Thanks

you'll want layers of different tones and colours according to how "deep down" the fur is. So maybe basecoat it scorched brown, then highlight/drybrush (depending how fast or careful you want to be) progressively lighter layers, moving from that brown towards a yellowishly dirty white. The more stages you use the beter it will look, alternatively you could just basecoat it brown, drybrush it bleached bone, then wash devlan mud on if you want to be fast. it's all about keeping some contrast in to give the fur definition.

Dumbledore has it spot on. Furs are one of the things that you can very quickly and easily drybrush and they will still look good. Start with a really dark brown, then drybrush progressively to lighter browns making the drybrush strokes lighter as the colour gets lighter, so the first one that is pretty dark should cover most except the deepest areas and the lightest one should just be extremely lightly brushed on. Then if you want throw a bit of ink or wash on top to add more depth, make it thin or you will get the overall look too dark and need to drybrush a bit more.
