Yeah, really I am most excited about the slight cease in complaints about summoning and points systems. Now for the complaining about balance and points costs!
Hahahaha.... I know nothing about AoS, but even I thought the same thing. From what I have heard though he is pretty potent. Do you feel he is overpriced?
God willing, that is the first and last time that I ever click on a link to any part of 4chan. (And how TF does anyone read with the formatting on that site? Geez.) Also? Saurus Guard as Battleline in certain circumstances? I only sorta know what that means, but DROOL BTW: BRETONNIANS ARE AMONG THE LEAKS! I AM SO HAPPY!
Well, he is indeed potent. .. but more than 2 slanns combined? I doubt it. EDIT : no points for skink chief...
He's a bit over priced, but not as bad as I thought he would be. So still pretty happy. As for poor skink chief, Maybe they have a Legacy units, or will update the app for points.
I saw another leaky page floating around (sorry, lost the link) that had more saurus models listed. I am reluctant to recite point values directly (since GW's people would hunt you down for that once upon a time), but it has Oxyotl, Tehenhauin, Jungle Swarms, and even the Skink Chief listed. So, either there's a photoshop-happy troll haunting the sewers, or your guy has survived
Also, on a very broad note, I'm thrilled that GW is giving point values to OOP units, but how the heck do they rationalize that? Like, "We want you to use these units that we won't sell you anymore, enjoy scrounging for them off eBay, and spending money on things that *aren't* what we're selling!" If they're just trying to rebuild a little of the goodwill that they squandered by abandoning so much stuff after the End Times, that's super. But, "goodwill" isn't something that they've seemed to care about in the past? Maybe I'll just hope this is a new era, and not think about it too much
I think it's good to point the oop models, for those who already have them, those that don't, time to do some conversions! Or scrounging auctions works too!
I suspect that they don't want anymore negative heat directed at them. Good move on their part. Keep people interested and they will eventually pick up new and shiny things to add to their collections.
Hah! It's balanced almost identically to how I've recommended balancing it. okolok done gloating ok The Rule of One is sick! I like these changes. Still wrapping my head around the points system.
Couldn't agree more. A friend of mine started collecting Bretonnians on the back end of 8th. When the Grand Alliance: Order book came out and the Brets were gone he pretty much called it quits despite my insistence that their rules still exist and are still valid. When I found out that the General's Handbook had points for Brets I sent him a message and he's immediately interested in the game again. I think that legitimising discontinued armies by continuing to support them despite the model line no longer being produced is a pretty significant step forward for GW to reclaim some of their lost player base. Hell I know it worked - at least for one person.
Some more tidbits are buried in the comments to the latest GW official announcement posts. Specifically, I see GW promising eventual points for ForgeWorld minis and models in the Silver Tower set: https://m.facebook.com/GWWarhammerAgeofSigmar/posts/490005417862923
