Now with command traits and artifacts! Just need to get the more of the allegiance abilities! I know that Guard and knight are battleline with the Seraphon allegiance . Want more!

Man Kroak is so expensive, wish I was painting my slann right now instead of kroak. Definitely excited for the guard being battleline. Also happy to see 40 as the max for warriors and skinks. That's how many I have :) Woogity needs to start making colossus faster. :p

I'd love to see an army list thread.

Glad to hear the skink chiefs and jungle swarms of the world will have a place. *general excitement squeeeeeeeel*

Yeah I am looking forward to some of the army lists that people will come up with. I wonder if they will update the AOS app with points, or if someone will have the battlescribe app updated for AOS

Any ideas on what size army lists would be considered popular? 800 Points? 1000 Points? 1500 Points? 2000 Points?

I imagine it will be like oldhammer where 1500-2500 will be the common, with escalation leagues popping up for new players. So it would be say starting with 500 and working your way up to an epic 3000 point showdown.

Well... I think 2000 will be the most common. 1000pts - quick game, 2000pts for standard game, 2500+ epic Nagash scale game.

Do we want to discuss the rules of one?

Each spell can only be attempted once per turn, not once per wizard.
Suddenly, to spam the same type of caster is no more optimal. No more Ogre with 4 butchers, for example.
We are not hurt by this, we have many casters with different and unique spells.

A roll of 1 to Hit, Wound or Save is always a fail.
not so much to say about this, I like because it negates those absurds "auto-hit" and "auto-saves"

Extra attacks to not generate extra attacks
    This hurts...
And there are armies that suffer even more from it (beastmen and most of all TK come to mind)

It hurts but, I think it's alright, it stops spell spamming and encourages looking at other strategies.

I'm only sad about it because I have yet to use my freshly glued and primed rippers, and I missed out on all the summoning seraphon happy fun times, but I'm all for sigmar becoming more "balanced" and competitive, so whatever that takes I'll deal with.

Kroak at 540 doesn't seem so bad when Nagash is 900.

On the other side, Settra at 360 will wreck battlefields...

Here is a question on the summoning rules, engine of the gods unit roll, that considered a summon? or something else you think?

It's still a summon I think. Just an ability not a spell, I wonder if that will be addressed, but I think it will still come from your summon pool.

Engine's summoning is super interesting with this rules by the way.
You can play a match on 2500pts, start with 1900pts and just wait. Later, you can summon a unit depending on your situation- and it can be a unit of 40 Saurus Warriors or... Lord Kroak. That's really really cool.

but will that not lead to weird matchups, i mean how much do you put to one side for summoning? 100pts, 400pts etc etc esp as it is a "random" chance? potentially leaving yourself short.

That is a darn good question, and one that needs a quick answer from GW. I can't imagine that they'll just say that a roll of 14-17 is meaningless. It must have some effect. But a free Oldblood on Carnosaur in a matched game? Or a party train of nine Kroxigors? I can't imagine that being OK either.

Now I don't play AOS, but if you set it up right, he should be able to pretty much nuke everything on the board every turn. Wrecking single models, and softening big units. So really it's probably fine, as he can also cast one more spell than a normal slann, and has the potential to survive longer, and has potential to be better in combat.

Whether he is overcosted or not, ultimately remains to be seen.

I'm reluctant to link to them directly because reasons, but earlier in this thread there was a link to a 4chan thread which included a comment with a link to imgur that had the Bretonnian points in it :)

I have the *.pdfs with points saved to my phone if anyone would like them. Send me your email (or whatever) and I'll get them over to you.

Yeha!! This points are a great move!

    1. I dont feel that Kroak is over costed, if used correctly he can put incredible amounts of damage ( he is not as undercisted as setra or manfred, but definatelly not as bad as gordak at 700)

    2. The astrolith bearer I believe its a little pricy at 160, but still he is a very good support unit

    3. The slann is Ok, but now that he's summoning is limited i would have liked him to have more acccess to different spells as light of heavens is kinda borring

    4. For me also some definite winners on our army are the guard, the krox, the oldblood on carnosaur and the sunblood, and the most expensive thing is the skink handlers for what they do hahahha. Cold ones at the same cost of blood knights also doesnt feel right

5.I believe there was something sayed somewerw that a tipycal fight wiuld be 2000

The arrifacts and other command abilities are also very cool, but not as strong as some of the others

I al really excited to play this match play stile and see how balanced it feels!
