Wow, these points actually look genuinely pretty balanced.

Don't suppose anyone has seen the points for Soulblights and Nighthaunt at all? Can't seem to find them leaked anywhere.

Super pumped to start making some nasty lizard lists, especially with those free upgrades for Heroes- The Oldblood on Carnosaur can now be absolutely vicious.

    4 Attacks/3+/3+/-2/D3 anyone?

Use this with a Klaq-Tor's Talons (+2 attacks, re-rolls, and Oldblood's Command Ability (+2 attacks).
And now you have 7 Attacks 3+/3+/D3 with free Hit Re-rolls. :)

I dunno, to me I feel the carnosaur should get the 1 wound heal just because you can end up on a threshold and that 1 wound can make a world of difference for the carnosaurs attacks.

Gor-Rok on the other hand with -2 rend and the old blood giving him 2 attacks on his mace for a total of 7 3+/3+/-2 with the extra wounds on 6s and d3 damage as well. You do lose out on his reroll command ability sadly.

    @heksagon @skipperyoss

    Both smashing ideas.

See this is what I'm excited for- the ability to bring a bit more creativity to army lists!

Don't forget we get to take an extra artefact for every battalion we take, so why not have *both* those suggestions ;)

"You may choose one additional HERO to have an artefact for each warscroll battalion you include in your army. The same model cannot have more than one artefect of power." ;)

But yes, I'm excited for this too :)

Well, we should wait for more points and rules for Seraphon Allegiance if we want to create "ready to play" builds.
Anyway, I'm quite a Builder (blame dnd and crpg :D) so I will create a tons of army builds of any size.

Too be fair if you bought the start collecting box you get a battalion so you can give your general and a hero an artefact.

Hmm just a thought, when choosing allegiance, do you choose order or seraphon, as it seems to me based on the page leaks( please correct if i am wrong) that in order to choose the extra abilities/artefacts that you need to choose order, thus temple guard are not battleline units, or choose seraphon, loose the extras but have guard as battleline units.

The Seraphon are part of Order, so I assume that the choices are not exclusive. For example, I presume, an entirely Seraphon army would be both Seraphon and Order.

...but I have yet to see a page confirming or refuting that. I just want the flippin' book to come out already. :p

(copy and paste from another thread)

You decide with "Allegiance" your army has.

If you choose "Allegiance Seraphon", all your models must have the keyword "Seraphon", and (at that point) saurus guards are a battleline unit.

if you choose "Allegiance Order", all your models must have the keyword "Order": this means that you can have a mixed army (Seraphon / Stormcast / Duardin), OR even a Seraphon only army. A Seraphon only army that has "Allegiance Order", doesn't have the guards as battleline, BUT will have the goodies of the Allegiance order (aka the Battletraits, the Command Traits and the Artefacts).

Basically: Battletraits, Command Traits and Artefacts are made for the Order-Death-Chaos-Destruction factions.
Seraphon and Stormcast are also armies of Order, Khorne is Chaos, Tomb Kings is Death, Orcs and Goblins is Destruction, and so on.
It all boils down to: what is the prevalent "personality" of my army? Seraphon or Order? Khorne or Chaos? the Race or the Faction?

If you choose the Race, you will have the advantage of strong elite units that can be used as "battleline".
If you choose the Faction, you will have the advantage of free battletraits and artefacts.

i thought as much, thank you.

So it comes down to a choice of fancy new toys and stuff-choose order allegiance or go "themed"-extra battleline at a cost of no new shiny shiny.

    Basically bound/unbound.

EDIT: Interesting, just having another look through the book leaks and came across this excerpt from the book:

"When your army qualifies for more than one allegiance-e.g all of the units are ORDER and STORMCAST ETERNAL-you must choose which allegiance your army will use before each game. These restrictions aside, you can use allegiance abilities whenever and wherever you play your games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar"

    Possible bypass?

I'm really excited by this release.

I had a chance to have a good look through the handbook in store today, there doesn't seem to be any secrecy over it so I took a better picture.
