I used this stuff, a rock I found, some twigs, and leftover weapon and totem bits for the base. The Carnosaur proxy comes standing on that little tree root thing, or he has special fancier bases where he is standing on the corpse of another dinosaur if memory serves.
 
Another gift for my dad similar to the Frankenstein bust from a year or two ago.

The marble effect was a personal goal of mine. I read up on ways to achieve the effect easily with an airbrush and dried out wetwipes. Sadly I couldn’t find a way to make the stencil type effect work on the concave pillar shape, so the marble was painted by hand.
