I've noticed that, unsurprisingly, this is a gaming genre that seems to have an immense population of male gamers when compared to female gamers.

Since I'm female and love wargaming (though I am incredibly new), I was just wondering if there are any other ladies on this site, or how often women are seen wargaming in general.

I see one every now and again. They seem pretty cool.

I think we have a few more girls on this site, most obviously, Kirkegaard's A Girls Purple project.
I suspect a few more are on the site though.

I'd demand a poll, if the poll would only work. I know one wargamer girl, but she plays dwarfs.

Whenever this girl posts anything, people seem to flock to it.

Her thread hasn't left the page one in months.
As far as painting goes, I'd say tons better on the forum. But she is incredibly creative. Her army has a kind of cell shaded ultra clean look to it. It's really different than anything else.

My GF painted a model once. As far as the gaming part, I don't think she would like that at all.

I wish my wife would be interested. She says it would bore her to death. The saving grace is that it keeps me busy.

I do have a friend whose wife likes to paint, but not play.

I am a girl, hooray :-) Most ladies i have come across seem to prefer painting to gaming. I also know that some women are put off by the minority of players who have no patience for people who are new. i struggled for a long time. A lot of people assume I am crap. At doubles tournaments I was ignored and spoken about as if I was not there... Anyway. Girls should be encouraged :-)

I agree with you. I hope you tabled some of those idiots.

I found myself drawn towards this topic, 'cause I wanted to share my experiences for being a girlgamer.~
I have dealed much with boys in the past eversince I was a little girl, so I'm used to be with guys and I have learned to survive with them ;> I have heard alot the basic kitchen jokes and stuff but everybody have been excited to play with me and teach me to play too. Especially my boyfriend was really pleased to hear that I'm also interested in Warhammer :)

I do not know any girlgamers except myself, so it would be nice to hear about others too.

Typical... Only kidding!
There was a girl gamer at our local centre. She was the girlfriend of the owner of the store.
She was brilliant at painting... But collected grey knights. Kinda like some people buy small cars because they're terrible at driving. (I'm not saying everyone with a small car is a terrible driver!) I should know I collected them.
Using grey knights is kinda like nuking snails. Your 2000 pt. army has 11 models in it, but also has a practical guarantee for a win. Please, don't take me the wrong way: girls can be brilliant gamers.
Can't say the same for driving...

Ha ha.

Me no sexist.

Please.
