Blog Gotta Paint Em' All!

I painted most of the day yesterday and this is where I got to. I think the gold is close to done? I don't love the square "braces" or whatever you want to call them around the outer rings, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with how the NMM is looking. I'm going to glaze some yellow back into most of it to boost the saturation, I already started doing that on some areas. And I want to reinforce some shadows on the metal with dark brown, but definitely coming down the home stretch!

Question, does the gold read as metal?

:jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop:

Holy cow what a beauty!!
The gold definitely looks like metal to me.
In the fourth picture a bit less though, but not sure if those are completely done.

The first picture is just a stunning sight :wideyed:

I can't wait to see the Toad sitting there :woot::woot:

Keep up the freaking amazing work:artist::artist::artist::artist:

Grrr, Imrahil

Yeah I struggled a lot with the braces making them look right. This was my first ever attempt at NMM so I learned a lot, I'll do some more research on flat surfaces next time I try it. Thanks so much tho for the encouragement!

Looks really good!

The gold most definitely reads as metal to me as well

Beautiful! Definitely reads as metallic. I'd say that maybe in some areas it could do with being a tiny bit brighter on the sharpest edges but it looks really good now.

I painted all the gems around the whole model, went back over some of the NMM to brighten it up, painted the chains/metal on the stone pillar and did a rust effect on it, and did the little lizards and frogs. I painted one yellow as an homage to my original slann. There's some touchup work to do, and I have to paint the skulls inside the stone pillar, but I'll do those when I do the base after the rest of the model is painted. Next up... the attendant.

Got a decent amount of painting in today, just gotta do the eyes and finish the jade spear head and then it's onto the NMM gold and the attendant will be done. I'll have to see how he looks next to kroak when kroak is done, hopefully the attendant doesn't pop too much.
