Doesn't Sylvaneth have similar issues as ours with quite a long list of F.A.Q.'s and whatnot making half their rules out of date?

Not nearly as severe as for Seraphon IMO.
But yeah, there are a few changes.

Maybe just bad enough to warrant a tome, but unlike us not such a mess of a faction where half the stuff kinda needs rewriting so they can churn it out relativly easily and still make a big show of it?

so, the Sylvaneth battletome is nearly here, so that means that GW can work on the faction that needs a new battletome the most, the Stormcast of course ;).
Current release trends indicate that the factions that got their battletomes very early in AoS will be getting their tomes updated soon-ish, so my guess is that either Ironjawz, Disciples of Tzeentch, Seraphon or Beastclaws will be getting their updated battletome with a new hero or endless spells in not so long.

    Rules preview for sylvaneth

    Most of it isn't too exciting except for two things;

    1) They get to have Nagash's insane + 3 to casting with the right set-up.
    2) They get an artifact that affects units that aren't the wearer of the artifact (it's a little buff in a bubble around it for kurnoth hunters instead)

I like this new artifact, opens up some interesting possibilities for future artifacts.

I don't know if you saw the new erreta. We don't have our Bloodclaw Starhost and Heavenswatch Starhost anymore

It worry's me that they are doing more errata's and point adjustments on seraphon I feel like that is their way of putting off the battle tome.

I tend to agree. But then we did have rules updates for armies in the GHB and a few months later the same army got a Battletome. So it might not mean anything.

The next Warcry warband has been previewed, and this time they are from the Realm of Death...

I don’t like these much at all - too much of a mix of Dark Eldar and Vampire Counts for my liking.

However, I imagine all you fans of Nighthaunt and Legions of Nagash out there would be interested in having some of these as undead cultists of some sort.
So far the Warcry warbands rate in my books as follows:
    1. The snake warband from Ghyran
    2. The crow warband from Ulgu
    3. The classic Marauder warband from Ghur
    4. The weaponsmith warband from Chamon
    5. This new warband from Shyish
I’m assuming as the Age of Sigmar Open Day is happening next Saturday, the final Chaos Warband will be previewed next week (I’m expecting them to be from the Realm of Fire, as Azyr is too full of Sigmarines and Hysh magic destroys Daemons), and I imagine because GW have previewed all the minis for these 6 Chaos warbands before the release, they will all be available in the initial release. I’m hoping that they’ll eventually release the Warcry rulebook separately from the main core set like they did with Necromunda, so that I can get the snake gang and crow gang to fight each other without having to buy the expensive core set with gangs I’m less interested in.

I'm surprised at how large the warbands are though. Loads of quite varied models. I hope they do a similar thing as with shadespire where all the units can be used in the main game. They seem interesting.

So how do we feel about Sylvaneth pretty much having more teleports than Seraphon. Each turn one Sylvaneth unit can teleport from one wood to the next. I know that doesn't seem much, but Spite Revenants don't need to move in the movement phase. As long as they have one set of waypipes in their unit the unit can LoSaT themselves.

At 70 points for 5, and the unit has a built in teleport I think we (Seraphon) aren't gonna be the ones known for our teleporting shenanigans.

Ironjawz have a spell that allows them to teleport in the new GHB as well. And as a destruction army the 9" minimum distance is basicly meaningless given the ease with which those get charge bonusses. Imho, teleporting seems to have become quite common.Though we appear to have the least restrictive one with respect to the actual teleport (no casting rolls, don't need to teleport near something, don't need to be near something to be teleported)

The Sylvaneth already were one of the very mobile armies with the previous set of rules, interesting to see how they are further developed into that direction.

But at 70 points for 5 I'm expecting that unit to be awful in melee. Sylvaneth core aren't generally known for their combat prowess, and if you can engage them in melee before they teleport, chances are they'll be mulched. Perhaps simply ignoring the teleporting runts to focus on killing the big things is the best tactic - if the big things die, the Sylvaneth army loses a lot of its punch as their basic units are poorly armoured and are generally weak in combat (and if your opponent keeps teleporting his units away, you then have the right to call those units dishonourable cowards).

The new warband looks kinda nice in my opinion, they give a bit of a post-apocalyptic vibe. I just don't like the big guy on stilts and the crescent blade arms, just looks weird in a bad way.

Wonder where the last warband will come from, my guess will be the realm of light because we know little about it, so what better way introduce lore about it than a warband?
