Yeah, I'm not... totally happy about that, but Space Marines ARE supposed to be bad-asses who can take a hit and keep going. Plus it looks like my flame throwers will all be much more usable now...

    Yeah, lore-wise it makes sense.
When you have guards and cultists at 1w, SM with 2w is ok... but at this point makes them a real elite army. The actual points increase for sm is negligible, especially if compared to the ones suffered by other armies.
When i'll play sm, i will be more than happy to pay 15 additional pts to have a 5 men-squad double its wounds.

Another thing i don't love is the buff to melta, heavy bolter and flamers.
So much for the "this could be an edition for melee". Sigh.

    And then the necrons.
Yeah, the weapons of the deathmarks goes fron S4 to S5, and AP-2, instead of 0. Plus, range 36!
Sounds good, but instead of rapid fire, it's heavy.
For the ones of you that don't know, deathmarks are kept in reserve, and when a enemy unit pops in via teleport or other means, they can appear and shoot as reaction.
Now, a 5-men squad was used to shoot 10 shots at 3+, now they will shoot 5 shots at 4+.
Basically, now deathmarks are good if you use them as sm scouts with sniper rifles. Which is far from bad, but it's not what they were made for.

Apart from the flamers, the melta and heavy bolter buffs are somewhat negligible. Quite frankly, with overwatch being a 1CP 1/turn strategem, why you'd want to charge a flamer squad (let alone sternguard vets with combi-flamers) without announcing several other charges at the same time is beyond me.

For meltas, they still need to be almost point-blank range to benefit from the melta special rule, and you're only ever going to see multimeltas mounted on select few vehicles including attack bikes and dreadnoughts.

As for heavy bolters, because of how damage is handled in 40k compared to AoS, under the new profile it will still have the 3-model hard cap on how many models it can remove each time it shoots, meaning that its only buff is when shooting at 2W models and light vehicles.

In the meantime, we have the warscrolls for immortals and deathmarks.
Immortals go to T5, and deathmarks go to BS2+.
Truly interesting... I still believe that units of ummortals capped at 10 is a small number, but hey.

Genestealers are a prime example of the 9th edition points hikes, from 10 to 15 points each, 50% increase. A 40 Genestealer/Broodlord combo has gone up by 140 points, it was too much before the points increase to be honest.

My last old necrons list passed from 1998 to more than 2300.
The AdMech transport (WWII style) has been raised from 73 pts to 100 pts. A transport.

Well, apparently those changes don't go into effect until October when the new codex comes out, and there will likely be ANOTHER points increase then. Current points are for current stats.

It has been a while, my kin, but alas, we got some actual news!

WE ARE GOING UNDER THE WORLDS, SPAWNLINGS!

But it is not us who are going down first, in fact, the next biggest fights will be led by the pointy eared warmbloods:

WARCRY: CATACOMBS: Khainite Shadowstalkers versus Scions of the Flame.

And two great fights against the Slaanesh' scum:

And a new box set with two new leaders: including the way better looking serpentine Daughters of Khaine.

And you can check much more from the lastest Warhammer Twitch stream in Twitch: here.

Which news are your favourite? What do you think of all of this?

I LOVE the Night Lords, so I got excited for these new overly expensive resine Termies:

I HOPE YOU ARE ALL DOING GREAT, MY KIN. WE WILL NOT FALL BEFORE THIS NEW AGENT OF NURGLE!

    PRAISE THE GREAT PLAN!

I KNOW RIGHT? I seriously barely believe how good this sculpt is. If we translated them to a new plastic kit of Chamies, they should be expensive as Chaosrealm, but I'd want to buy the entire stock of the shop.

You deserve one of this if you noticed the frog!

I mean, a catacomb can be seen as a hole, but I meant Underworlds. You know, actual chaotic holes under the realms.

Love the Chameleon sculpt, so much better than the Blood Bowl one, but pity it’ll just be one in a set of all different Lizardmen rather than part of a plastic Chameleon unit. Of course it would make a pretty good updated Oxyotl miniature if someone painted him orange.

Very annoyed at Daughters of Khaine getting so much press, with a new campaign book centred around them, a boxed game featuring them and a Warcry warband allied to them (it’s not exactly as if they needed any help given they’re still at the top tier somehow). The Melusai heroine looks OK and fits with the rest of the army but I just don’t like that mask.

Indeed I’m rather peeved about the Elgi getting more press in general with the whole series of these new campaign books revolving around them, what about the Dawi, by Grungni? They’ve had hardly anything since Kharadron first came out several years ago and GW have shelved them for Elves (rhyme intended). This is going in the Dammaz Kron :oldman:

Oh and @NIGHTBRINGER, did you notice they’ve brought in some more Slaaneshi mortals now as part of the Underworlds warband fighting the Lumineth and the Slaaneshi hero in the box against DoK? I remember you were a bit miffed about the lack of Slaaneshi mortals in the Hedonites release last year

I haven't been a big fan of most of their recent Slaaneshi stuff (outside of the DoC Keeper of Secrets).

    It's Slaanesh.

Not really my cup of tea to be honest. It's okay, but not something I would consider picking up and trying to convert into my WFB WoC army.
