Agreed. They gave out as little information as possible. Even if the release schedule was slow, I thought they would at least tell us when the remaining core fractions were scheduled to be released. Who knows when the Wood Elves will get their release. The TOW rollout has been terrible.

I'd say this entire Nova Open preview was underwhelming... but... CHAOS DWARFS!! !.gif

Tjah, GW wants those recurring revenues. And they decided this is the best way to spread out the revenue over the entire cycle....
Terrible for clients, but I guess the investers are happy.

I thought the dwarfs and chaos had already been released? Why is that listed as still to come?

More freaking SCE; because of course that range needs to immeadiatly be bloated again.
They're nice looking models; but seriously, release something else. Or at least spread the models across factions a bit more.

If it makes you feel any better; the AoS roadmap is just as vague and just as absurdly staggered as the ToW one.
Apparently 2025 will release all factions? But then only shows destruction spearheads and death to be announced?

    Who wrote these roadmaps?

I don't play Blood Bowl, but it's nice to see the Chaos Dwarfs getting some attention.

Over all it is quite an underwelming reveal event...

I don't care for the SCE and the roadmaps are made to a bare minimum.

@Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl must be happy to see this (knowing how much he loves Empire):

I wonder what "a collection of totally new models" entails.

Okay, so we've established some sort of Old World release schedule...

    • Warriors of Chaos
    • Empire
    • High Elves
    • Wood Elves or Beastmen (probably Beastmen first so that we don't have back to back Elf releases)

It's not much I suppose, but better than nothing. And we've got @NIGHTBRINGER all happy with his Chaos Dwarfs :D

I just really need that to sink in a moment. Did I miss something in previous battletomes? I admit I used battlescribe for any building, so maybe I missed points not being in previous battletomes?

But why remove points values from the battletomes? Why make it more inconvenient for players?

Or am I missing something? Did I just make myself look the fool by completely forgetting some detail?

Just beat up another Chaos Dwarf, take his hat and stack it, that'll put some extra height to your hat

Well, the AoS points change so often, in the grand scheme of things, that printing unit points in a battletome would be... ahem... pointless. :p

Boo! Be ashamed of that pun! As a skink you're meant to be far more creative than such a low hanging fruit! :p

Problem is, even if the points change, having a printed base version that can still be used in the advent of a network outage or a game in a place with spotty wifi means, even if slightly less than ideal, at least there are points than can be used.

I like having my rules in a printed format so I can hand the book to the other player so they can read and verify things for themselves. Handing over my phone so they can squint at the PDF or the screen cap or what-have-you annoys me. I do not like letting other people touch my phone, pos that it may be.

I think they look quite good. They suffer a bit from copy & paste (especially the two pyromancers drinking), but a very cool team overall. A nice addition to Blood Bowl and as you say, a great update of the classic look.

Sure; but it's rare for those changes to be significant enough for it to really matter outside of tournaments.
Plus, it gives a baseline to start with for new players.

For the sake of vendor lock-in basicly.
The more you're dependent on their little systems and apps to do your thing, the less likely you are to switch to a competitor.
Plus, with some luck you can even convince your customers to pay extra for it....

Isn't the "everything as a service" business model just great?

*looks pointedly at my rulebooks for Kings of War, and the OnePageRules file on my PC*

Or I can swap to a ruleset where I'm not getting jerked around by the ones that made those same rules? How is it that people in positions of power become so braindead as to not register that consumers aren't idiots? Wait... don't answer that... it's positive reinforcement; they jerk the consumers and the consumers are still frothing at the bit to spend their moneys.
