GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

The bonuses granted by Da Bad Moon are nasty…
they're not just nasty, it also seems rather fun as it moves across the board & doesn't affect everything in the same way unlike for example the idoneth tide ability that just affects everything on the board.

Also, I like that it just makes whatever is under it better at whatever it's already good at. It's not like the idoneths ability where at low tide the entire army is more sturdy, and at high tide the entire army is more Killy, regardless of their purpose or base-line stats. The bad moon just make sturdy stuff sturdier and Killy stuff killier. But it doesn't turn a normally squishy unit into a tank, or a normally toothless unit into a blender. Seems like a better approach.

Also, just saw the preview for spells I freaking love spitefull prodder. A spell that depends on your postioning beyond just "have the wizard in range" and plays off the fact that you're a horde army and can actually be counteracted by your opponent in other ways than murder the wizard (in this case, murder his largest group of friends). I want more of these.

Start collecting boxes and paints are going to be going up in price. the price increase for start collecting as either 5 gbp Sterling or 10 gbp Sterling.

pants are going up approximately 20 pence per pot or local currency equivalent for any of these changes.

Original article on warhammer-community price figures mainly gotten from Facebook responses by the Warhammer Community team

So, what would be the best deal SC boxes to waste our money on before prices go up?

Fyreslayers, because you can’t get the awesome Magmadroth model anywhere else, and Kharadron because they’re similarly awesome ;)

That sucks. It will really cut into the savings that they offer. I'm so glad that all of my armies are virtually complete!

That depends on which models you like the best.

That is pretty cool... except for the spider... that is a little bit too realistic for comfort.

Think Beasts of Chaos is one of the better ones, offering good savings. I'm glad I recently bought 2 of em' :p

I'm kinda curious what prompted the price raise for the SC boxes. The current prize is a rather neat number & feels like a fairly decent "starting points" with most boxes giving something that at least vaguely resembles an army. But with a ~10 pound prizehike it becomes an even steeper entryprize & I'l be even less likely to start armies that have "weird" combinations of units in their start collecting boxes..

Also, god those models can put out ridiculous amounts of damage.

There really is no need for that - the prices for them are fine as they are, and yet GW I imagine still makes bucketloads of cash from them.

Someone over on the DakkaDakka forum pointed out something interesting about the Dankhold Troggoth kit, if you look closely at their thumbs they are clipping into the fingers.

As much as i love WHFB Dwarfs, I'm not into eihther of those faction.
Might invest some money in Death or Sylvaneth, or just wait for Gloomspite.

Possibly brexit
Could be, though a 10-20% increase on SC boxes seems a bit steep for that. Especially seeing as as far as I know no actual deals have been made yet, so it's not like the cost of importing their raw materials has increased massivly cuz of higher tarrifs or something (also.. it'd be increadibly worrisome if the brexit would be responsible a 10-20% prize increase on toys… imagine the prize increases on stuff that'd actually matter..)

Ah, good old Brexit. Whether you believe in it or not, I think that it’s easy to agree that at the very least in the the way it’s being handled, it has to be one of our biggest f*ck ups in a very long time. From what I’ve heard though, it doesn’t sound like it will affect the fantasy gaming industry much

If a no deal occurs, it will.

Companies will have to export under WTO rules, rather than EU regulations. It would cause prices to rise.
