GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

It also helps that I have literally every Tomb Kings model in my collection already. GW has no dominion over me.

The only 2 models i don't have are: the necrosphinx (but i have 2 warkitties) and the Hierotitan (given that the model doesn't exist, unless you kitbash it)

Jealous

I am missing a few models for my Lizardmen:

Lord Kroak
Tehenhauin
Chakax
Tiqtakto
Bastiladon - Ark of Sotek (could build?)
Razordon
Terradons
Troglodon
Mazdumundi

I have the rest but I’ll get them eventually :(

Speaking of models never produced by GW, Tiqtakto and Mazdamundi don't have an official miniature. And they are, effectively, the only ones i lack in my collection.

I am 99% sure the ripperdactyl/terradon box comes with the components to make Tiqtakto unless I am mistaken? Has all the bits that match the army book art for him.

Mazdumundi I haven't attempted to make as I'm not sure I could do him justice.

That's just a "generic" master of the sky, not the named hero.
Of course, nothis stops you from adding something fancy and call it Tiqtakto.
Same can be said for Nakai.

The more I read about that Dieter guy the more I think he could be a relatively good fit.

He’s no good anyway as he can’t join units :( who is Nakai?

All in good time. Just keep building them up. I'm missing a few Lizardmen models as well.

Kicking myself I didn’t pick up a priest of sotek when GW did that limited run a few months back

Nakai the Wanderer is an extremely ancient and unusually intelligent kroxigor, possibly the first of his kind. He has a habit of showing up unexpectedly to help out in a battle before vanishing into the jungles again.

I assume this is a pre-8th edition character? I only got into 8th edition through a friend, haven't played any previous editions. I always thought what we are missing is a Kroxigor character. Where can I read up on this dude?

Tiq’Taq’To got an official model as an option in the Terradon Riders box released with the 8th Edition Army Book:
363

And this is definitely him, trust me. I still have the White Dwarf announcing this kit that proves it (and possibly the instruction manual from when I built my Terradons)

Gods, no! Stop giving GW ideas about how they could make it just more Vampire Counts rubbish and the biggest anticlimax of the year! We need to tell them that we want something more interesting, otherwise the lazy buggers will just go down the same old route (something the new GW generally does in 40K - we don’t want this mindset transferring to AoS as well beyond Sigmarines)

Besides, it’s got to be a new Death faction because if it was just Legions of Nagash Deathrattle they would have made this specific like they announced both factions in the previews for Carrion Empire and Looncurse, and also such a preview video wouldn’t have multiple parts to it like this video does (part 1: The Necropolis, which also sounds more Tomb King and less Vampire Counts as the Tomb Kings had the grand Egyptian-style pyramids which are Necropoli, while Vampire Counts/Legions of Nagash just raise the unwilling dead from graveyards/Shyish).

Nakai can be found in previous editions of the army rulebook. With that said, I'm having a difficult time trying to recall if there ever was a stat sheet for him.

Like Lord Mazdamundi, he never had a dedicated model outside of conversions.

I think @Rikard made an epic Nakai model that is now part of the Avatars of War line of miniatures?

Nakai never did get rules, he would have made a wrecking ball of a character though.

I did make a Krox for AOW (which he's had since 2011 and STILL not released), but not Nakai, there is my Nakai, but No-one is getting that one.*

Nakai, was/is the only Kroxigor special character who appeared in the fluff back in 6th Ed. His original temple city was destroyed (Pahaux I think) during the fall of the gates, he alone survived and traveled to the assault on Itza and held the bridge of Stars for 3 days before reinforcements arrived. He was presumed dead after that as he vanished, but then popped out of no-where 3000 years later, he fought in the Pestilines war and personally bisected a giant tainted Rat Ogre raised by Nurglitch. He got covered in the puss and infected blood and fell ill, but after a short while his fever broke he grabbed his weapon and vanished (as he always does) into the jungle.

He's been rumoured by some to be a jungle spirit that comes manifest when needed, appearing, disappearing again and again, sometimes his appearance has been all the warning that a temple city has had before a battle. Other's think he's blessed by an Old One (Sotek is the fav) because of his regenerative powers, having been seen killed, only to appear again soon afterwards to destroy those same enemies.

He had 2 unofficial GW rule sets, one had him as a hero choice (standard Krox stats, but WS5, T5 AND regenerate), that was for the Vampire Counts in WD.

There was a second set a few years later, as a Lord and either a hero/rare slot, he had Strength 6, WS 4 or 3, a 3+armour save a 5+ward and jungle spirit rule set.

*No miniature company.
