Help Has anyone clipped the frills/fins off of their skinks?

I am currently starting a project where I plan on painting a seraphon army, each unit representing a difference species of American desert reptile. I love the idea of doing my skinks like desert iguanas, but the frills are causing my creative vision some trouble. Has anyone tried removing the frills altogether? How did it turn out? Would my models still be legal?

The models would surely still be legal.

I cut them off for my Chameleon Skink conversion.

Do a pair of test models. Should be fairly easy to clip styrene.

They're really easy to remove. You could sand them down, clip them, or just cut with a hobby knife. Smoothing out the top will give it a more natural look.

i have 10 chameleon skinks made this way i recommend sniping fairly close with wire cutters then chipping away closer and more exactly with a scalpel.
