The models are pretty slick. I was looking through the various weapons they have as attachments. I bought the starter set, so I think I'm going to go ahead and pick them up mid-august. I'm going to give myself some time to think about whether I really want them or not, but I have been pretty pleased with the starter set.
I don't think they are so bad...but they are not fantasy models...they are 40k models...in short I hate them And i hate the fact that there are no faces.
What do they have instead? I thought I was seeing noses / eyes on heads in pix that have been linked.
they have golden masks. They all look the same...to me at least. And one of the things that most impressed me in the models since when i started was the faces. Even the old empire cannon crew had more charakter than those guys.
I'm going to say that at first look I thought these guys were cool, just like all the other new models, but when it comes down to really owning them and playing with them I don't think I would like the style. It's like reading a comic book where the main character is so full of enormous muscles and proportions that his body composition is unnatural, yeah he looks amazing but it just lessens the story for me. In the same way these new more cartoony models look fantastic but they lessen my immersive experience because they are so over the top, but I won't say I hate them just not my style.
Here is a link to Lord Celestant: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WARHAMMER-BITS-AGE-OF-SIGMAR-LORD-CELESTANT-x1/131563720206?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=29979&meid=481ba3761ac6416a9ec736da29448c7d&pid=100011&rk=3&rkt=10&mehot=lo&sd=371394395004 I wonder if bits-world is an adjunct of GW..? At any rate it is possible to see how the pieces go together....some posters on here were speculating about converting the steed.
Nope, only perhaps the head is salvageable, looks like a computer was used to make the sprues. I am amazed that whey where able to cast some of these parts though. I wonder if the model was made completely on a computer?
well armor is fused to all the other body parts, and it's all emblazoned with warhammers, scrolls and comets. Oh and bits of the rider (arms and legs). I suppose you could use most of the tail though.
The hits keep coming. Games Workshop rankled a lot of people by turning Warhammer Fantasy on it's head. I hope this doesn't mean they are trying to kill conversions and kitbashing options too.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/WARHAMMER-B...65c24d4&pid=100005&rk=2&rkt=6&sd=311409699323 The other models don't fair much better. (very strange castings)
Hopefully they are trying to kill it... then maybe less people will buy their stuff and they might learn their lesson for once.
