Blog Here's my Lizardmen army so far (Star Wars Bounty Hunters)

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far. (2 down 3 to go)

Thanks guys :smug:

Sadly not Old Moe,
it seems like it would be a lot of fun for a skirmish game.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far. (Images of Lustria)

Just read through the whole thing from start to finish. Amazingly good. I especially like your rivers. I'd copy that style but I don't want to put that much work into a river since rivers hate me on the gaming table...a lot.

Well I took a lot of pictures, unfortunately most where out of focus.... here's the couple that came out OK.

Thanks man :smug:

Let me know if you have any question about making terrain or whatever.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far. (LOTS o Images of Lust

You're making me angry at my apartment. I just can't find enough space to store a full table worth of jungle terrain :(

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far. (LOTS o Images of Lust

Very cool stuff, you did a tutorial for your river did you not? Can you link it?

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far. (LOTS o Images of Lust

Oh, While I still have everything still setup,
does anyone want a closer look at anything ?

Just curious, what model is next to the skink priest and kroak on the photo with the ruins?

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far. (LOTS o Images of Lust

Well there are 2 more, an old Skink chief with the skull helmet, the other is my own custom conversion for Gor-Rok. :smug:

You reply my introduction, and I caught your painting blog so I wanted to take a peek of your army !

You have done nice job ! I love that blue Stegadon and green-bronze Kroq-Gar especially ! :) It's cool to see something else than a red or green Stegadon. Also the Razordons are great.

Thanks a lot. :D

Let me know if you have any questions about painting techniques or anythting ?

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far. (LOTS o Images of Lust

Actually I do have few questions in mind~

First, do you prefer dry brushing or do you use washes? Second: I'm trying to figure out which makes these two techniques so different? Can you tell me why you like to use that technique and which are the goods and bads in both techniques?

Sorry for bothering you with so many questions, I'm just so curious. ^^" I have painted Warhammer figures just once and we used washes at that time.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far. (LOTS o Images of Lust

A bit of both realy, the basic plan goes something like this. ;)

Primer
base color
blending (sometimes)
highlight
wash
dry brush for the final highlight

Basicly Dry Brushing is to make the edges of something lighter
and wash is for making the cracks and crevices darker.

Oh and here's a great site to help explain the basics, as well as some of the more advanced stuff.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far. (LOTS o Images of Lust

^^ Did you make that?

Hey, I forgot to mention that I LOVE the Saurus Rider that has his shield above his head. I can't tell if he's blocking a hail of arrows or if he is about to spear someone and dismount into a ground tackle. Either way, it's awesome.

Thanks man he's one of my favorites too, I found a rather easy method to reposition their arms,
what you do is slice off a wedge of one of the the little cylinders that are all over the sprue.
they happen to be amost the same diameter as a saurus arms are, then just glue it on to change
the angle of either arm.

Ps. no I didn't make that graphic, it's from the website i linked to.

Excellent solution to repositioning arms. I tend to use a pin vise to drill a hole, use wire to form a new skeletal bone, then layer with greenstuff to form muscles and skin. Takes a lot longer I'd venture, and your way probably looks just as good! :)
