Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...( Temple Standard bearer )

Would you mind expaining the colors you used in the jade I can see that you have captured the look as you said it may be the amount of paint you needed but I would like to add that technic to my arsonal.

Ummm... Hard to describe, since I'm not Using GW paints...
Based dark green, mid tones in medium green, highlighted in yellow green...
then a wash of GW's green wash, and I think some delvin mud in the recesses.

Mostly I am using paints like apple barrel and craft.

any way I made a few touch ups and took some better pics of my Temple Guard standard Bearer.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...( Temple Standard bearer )

@ N810: I really like how the banner looks. I think you did a splendid job. It's also nice to see how you take your pictures. What did you print on the background??? I'm interested since I'm always looking at ways to improve the photos I take of my army. Also, what kind of light bulb do you use??? When I use 2 artificial lights, I tend to get a yellowish look on the photos. Maybe because I use a white piece of paper?

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...( Temple Standard bearer )

its one incadesient bulb and one florescent daylight bulb.
The background is a simple blue to white gradient that I printed,
and I still had to to a little bit of brightness adjustments to get everything looking right.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...( Temple Standard bearer )

@ N810: From what folder/image did you print that blue to white sheet of paper??? Thanks for the info about the light bulbs!!!

That's one good looking command group you got there N810!

Looks good!

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...( Temple Guard Comand )

WOW....i just read the entire blog and that is my one word to sum it up...wow.

definitly inspired me to put my army into full gear this new year, but i have a few questions if you dont mind me picking your brain. Is that Krog-gar that you used as the old blood on carny? if so would you recommend converting him or building one from scratch?

and lastly, what do you use to make your terrain?

thanks, and keep up the amazing work.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...( Temple Guard Comand )

Sweet looking piece, I like the addition of a few body parts to it!

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...( Temple Guard Comand )

Yep that the standard GW Krog-gar, I just add a few Lizardmen bits, mostly to cover up
where the spear on the saddle had been damaged a bit.

Converting one could be a fun project , especialy if you allready have some temple guard or cold one bits.

Mostly my Terrain is made on the cheep out of natural materials I find for free, occasionally
some re purposed aquarium decorations and the like... Did you have any specific terrain questions ?

Ps. Thanks Stewart...

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...( Temple Guard Comand )

the main question is what you used for the basing on the terrain, it has a very dirt like realism to it. do you having any pictures of it next to any models for size comparison?

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...( Temple Guard Comand )

Nothing fancy just sand white glue and paint...
and I got the sand for free, Mostly it is round river sand,
but I used some coarse sand as well on that last one.
Oh yea also a lot of layers of paint.
The flock I made myself from green food coloring and sawdust.
