Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

wow, a load of great models and terrain (my fave is the steg though)
any chance of you posting any tips on my new thread???

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

Wow thats a fantastic looking table, great work! Would be awesome to play on.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

I have to say that is a lot of work. Every little bit is just masterfully created. Great job; will you be doing any more items?

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

Thanks guys. :D

Yea I have a few more projects in planing,
When I can get my materials together I plan on Doing some
modular rivers, and later I plan on Building a Mayan Temple/Pyramid,
I'll Probably end up making some other random scenery in the mean time as well.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

I feel like I'm going to repeat what the others already mentionned but man, your table is I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E!!!!
If possible, post some more close-ups of each piece of terrain, there seems to be so much detail on everything...

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

Nathan, your terrain continues to awe and inspire me. I particularly like the watch tower, and the tree with the large shelf mushrooms. What did you use to make the tower?

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

Mostly Bamboo and string.
Oh yea and a lot of hot glue, ;)
and some fake plastic plants.

Yea somehow I managed to end
up with a huge piece of bamboo
that fell of of a truck into my yard,
I think it was from one of the
neighbors yards. :meh:

Ps. here's the Wip from years back....

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

Seeing it bare gives me a lot of ideas. I'll have to look for a bamboo drop on a vehicle near my house. I do wish I could get that lucky sometimes!

How will the river effects be made? I'm interested to see if you will use water effects or colors to show depth. I'm looking forward to more updates.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

Well you can probaly get some from a garden center or some place that sell fake flowers,
or if any neighbors have any ask if you can have a bit, usualy its a chalenge just to keep it from taking over the yard.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

The vines all over the tree stump looks awesome. If I played with this piece you'd always be catching me moving it to see the other side! It is so great because each side has something going on.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

Thanks dictator, :smug:
Yea for the same reason it also also makes it rather hard to photograph,
since any shot showing the whole thing you tend to loose sight of the details,
and with any close up shot it gets hard to tell wht you are looking at. :P

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

Those looke pretty awesome, n810! Gives me some inspiration for creating my own lizardmen-themed terrain. I especially like the bamboo watch tower.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Jungle)

Gonna have to break this into 2 post.

I got some Temple guard bits off of good olde eBay to pimp out my cav some more,
these are the ones that got modded some more.

Here's a group shot of the rest that just got painted but not further modified.

Ps. the skink is in the shot cause he kinda came as a bonus with the bits.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(Cold One Cav WIPs)

Everything looks amazing - looking forward to following this blog as it develops! I have to get some of those plastic aquarium plants that you seem to be using. I haven't been happy with the scale or realism of the ones I've found so far.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(Cold One Cav WIPs)

They look good! I look forward to seeing them painted.

As an aside, I've just noticed another thing that seems odd about those cold one sculpts... The tails are way too short. They don't look functional or like the creature can move much at all. I'm starting to think that if they were simply stretched a bit so they ended up a bit skinnier, a bit longer, longer neck/head, longer tails, the models wouldn't look as weird.

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(Cold One Cav WIPs)

Good observation Stewart. Definitely some shannanigans going on with the proportions to make those fit on a cavalry base. I'm working on a mounted Scar Vet right now and I make my own Cold One tail, in part because I thought it was odd that every tail should be going in exactly the same direction (!)

Re: Here's my Lizardmen army so far...(More Terrain)

Managed to get it finished...
Ok mostly the Water FX is going to take a while to dry yet,

100_1121.jpg
100_1123.jpg
100_1124.jpg
I kind of went overboard and covered up some of the earlier detail... again...
Oh well it still looks decent enough.
