How do I put a qoute from a post in a Private Message

easier way is highlight everything. Ctrl c, click the person you want to post to Ctrl V
 
Yeah just copy paste... There is a quote button above the box you type in, that will surround whatever you have highlighted with the quote tags if you really want them. But I am pretty sure for your purpose it really doesn't matter.
