Wizards can always march and cast, it is in the main rulebook...

@ karnik, how does ruins help in combat? surely they have a chance to redress or at least take casualties from where they want since it is essentially a shooting attack. I mean, yes it reduces the unit but it doesn't really make less of a hcance of enemies striking back, the impact hits and steg attacks should do that nicely.

@strewart you are correct I should have been more specific. I was just implying that when on the flank you take away rank bonus, +1CR and with the impact hits and Ruins thinning the line you are likely going to out number for an auto break. You just need to make sure that no heroes get into combat and be sure you can win combat. If you are even a little unsure stay away so you do not give up the VP points.

The EOTG is a Point denial machine when equipped with the drums

Personally if there is a a handful of war machines in their army i leave the engine at home

But if your fighting warriors of chaos then well...take two :)

I find that by sandwiching it on either side of my temple guard unit, with saurus blocks on the far flanks, an inch behind the front line, the enemy cannot charge the engine because it will clip the saurus warriors and therefore needs to declare a charge on them instead.
Then theyre locked in place suffering from BA's and drain life/cleansing flare with a cold blooded LD9 BSB holding my saurus in place

But at the end of the day, cannon shot can take 400VP from your army. Just not worth it in my opinion
