easy.... Scaly skin 4+ with Quetlz Adding an enchanted shield 5+. Makes a 2+. Mounted on Carnosaur adds an other 1+ and light armour also adds an extra 1+. So now we're on a 0+ Then the parry in close combat if he has a shield and handweapon adds one more 1+. = -1+ arm save If u then put him on cold one rather then a carno he might get an extra from thick skinned rule (I'm not sure) So if u can count good it makes a -1+ on carny and maybe (not sure) a -2+ on a cold one meaning that people have to strike with a S7 to make u fail on rolls of 2+ which is incredible. It just makes him extremely hard to kill in closecombat. But it doesn't make him indistructable as he's just one hero and like all solo heroes they die vs blocks of 20 without any help.
First, You dont get mount bonus when riding monsters ec. carnosaur. You then have a 4+ save on the carno, and a regular save depending on the equipment on the Oldblood. And Riding Cold ones gives +2 to armor save hence to thick skinn instead of +1 Second, Mounts don't get parrybonus. Only infantry. So, you cannot possibly make a armorsave better the -1 in an lizzardmen army. And that make a S7 hit a save on 3+
4+ scaly skin with Quetzl: 4+ Light Armor: 3+ Enchanted Shield: 1+ Mounted on Cold One: -1+ You get no parry bonus for a hand weapon while mounted. On a Carnosaur, max armor save is 1+
ninja skink is right about how to do it... what's really funny is to get that -1+ save and give the aura of quetzl too
Ive just realised but your army list is illegal: the carnasaur takes up an additional hero choice and so you have 5 characters =[ I reconmend removing the bsb as it is unlikely you'll be facing any large blocks of troops so the bsb will become less useful.
The BSB could be useful to have in a unit of saurus or something, whit the sun totem ofcourse, eother remove something less useful or take a CO instead of a carno.
Just last night I played a game against a very nasty WE player and completely obliterated him. I shall post my list here for all to see. Oldblood- Light Armor, Enchanted Shield, Burning Blade of Chotec, Gleaming Pendant of Chotec, Glyph Necklace, Quetzl, Sotek, and Itzl spawnings with Carnosaur. 498 pts Skink Priest- Level 2, Cube of Darkness, Mark of the Old Ones - 175 pts Skink Priest- Level 2, 2x Dispel Scrolls - 150 pts Skinks- x18, javelins - 108 pts Skinks- x18, javelins - 108 pts Skinks- x20, javelins - 120 pts Salamanders- x3 - 195 pts Kroxigors- x4, Ancient - 252 pts Kroxigors- x4, Ancient - 252 pts Chameleons - x10, Stalker - 156 pts Stegadon - 235 Total - 2249 Me and my friend play 2250 point fights, this fight was over terribly quick, the skinks ripped apart his annoying Wild Riders and get a good number of Dyrads and Glade Guard. The Stegadon held up the Lord for a turn so that the Carnosaur got the flank after I sent my Salamanders and Skinks units after the Waywatchers, because that Killing Blow shot was too risky for the Carno Rider. I killed his Lord pretty much instantly, the overran into Dyrads and his Branchwraith, then I pursued past his army, turned around next turn, then charged the remaining Glade Guard, overran into the Treeman, and destroyed it quickly. The Kroxigors and Stegadon fell earlier to the Treeman however as well as my preist from the Strangle Roots attack. On the other side of the board behind a Rocky Crag and two forests a Skink Priest was paniced off the board when the x20 skink unit, after morbidly wounding the Wild Riders, lost to Dyrads and fled and were caught. Overall a good game but it turned out a Marginal Victory (almost Superior) in my favour. The Carnosaur destroyed him.
