Try again, I am sorry, I messed up my link earlier. I got him and the handlers primered though!!! Slamander, male type. sorry for earlier!
You still need to do a walkthrough with pictures and technique explanations for us newbies so we can do our bestest to not ruin expensive models =D
Will do so with this salamander team once thanksgiving holiday is over. Busy with the family and cooking a turkey!
Finished the male and his pack, will post pics this weekend . Two hours of painting total. That includes basing and taking pics when I remembered to for a tutorial. Writing it up may take a bit.
Some better pics methinks... I will take some side by sides with the other team for comparisons. I have tons of progressive pics during the painting of this guy and was very surprised at how short of a time it took to do him and the team of handlers.
Looks fantastic. It could look a little more salamander-y, but excellent painting and converting. You really paid attention to cleaning up the details.
Thanks a bunch! Totally understand what you mean. I am considering picking up/converting some gouts of flame so it looks like they are spitting fire.
Thanks! I figured the male would have more prominent features and be a much more eye catching specimen as is usually the case in nature.
These look amazing man! I've wanted to do a very similar conversion someday for my own salamanders. Great inspiration!
Thanks favored and redeyefrog, glad you guys like!! I just finished filing and primering all the shields for this army and getting two saurus prepped to be added to the unit fillers! More work to go!
To sum up your work in one sentence "Elegant in it's simplicity" Decribed in words I'd never believe that ice-themed primarily grey Lizardmen would look good but your models are amazing. The painting jobs are so clean. I like your Slann on the rustic stone palanquin. On a related note, if you weren't planning on using the old palanquin at all, I'd buy it from it you since I could use a palanquin for a Tet conversion project.
I don't plan on usIng it at all and would be willing to sell it. Be advised it need a good stripping but I believe all the pieces are there minus the base and flying stand itself. Thank you for the kind words. I didn't want to overdo myself and instead aimed for simple but effective. Glad to see it is well liked on this lizards board!
The colors you have used are great. From the pictures its hard to tell but it appears to be a green-grey for the skin tones and either a grey-white or bone-white for the scales. Any chance you might list the colors you used and how you go about painting these wonderful looking Lizardmen? PS - Ive been lurking on these boards for years now and this is the first time I have been compelled to join to just ask a question. Thanks for the wonderful looking minis!
