If you could pick a monster or monsters from the Stormof Magic book and would have to use your rare slots to fulfill this. What monster or monsters would compliment the lizardmen.The points allowed are 2800 points. I was thinking that a Cockatrice would serve the army very well. I also like a Ghorgon. Let me know what you guys think.

I like the zoat myself.

Work out if you are looking to go strong in one phase of the round or to shore up a weakness, it makes the choice easier.

Don't really need big monsters. I like the mage options though. Zoat in particular is a pretty good choice, frees up your Slann for Light/Shadow/Death.

Well of the things I thought about was bringing a oldblood on a carnosaur and then bringing an unmanned carnosaur and run them together. I also like the idea still of bringing a cockatrice. It really has some nasty features to it. I have a tournament on Saturday of 2800 points which SoM beasts can be used in the rare slots. Just no doubles. I think that there are so many ideas here that can help the lizardmen its not even funny. I was even thinking on bringing a Manticore to get into the enemies back and take out war machines. Tell me your thoughts people. I know you guys are more creative that this.

I like the Cygor. You can gear your wizards up to control the magic phase and then add a Cygor to hunt down those enemy wizards. After all that's what SoM is about!

I think in 3 options:

- The already mentioned zoat
- Great Eagles, for a fast and tough machine hunting unit
- A great dragon / emperor dragon for monster dueling.
