Thank you very much, those colors work very good indeed.
I still need to see how I will incorparate these colors in a Hero model to stand out between the warriors, but still feel part of the same army.

Made some extra use of the good wheater, so I build and primed some Minas Tirith models, they might be needed during the Battle companies scenarios on Thursday:



First time working with Resin models(Fountain court Guards), I'll see how that goes.

Thanks, I have to say in the had when painting it feels a bit odd, but the detail is amazing.
Also cleaning it proper is a pain in the ... spotted some supports even when painting fixed it though.

With the new version of AoS being rolled out I find myself having lack of motivation to do work on AoS models at the moment.
Instead I like working on Middle Earth SBG models and Scenery.

My very first models, that got me into the hobby.

Warriors of Minas Tirith!

The paintjob on them are as I did them 14 years ago. The only thing that changed is the basing. They will need some sort of touch up to give them more depth and detail.

That's awesome! I really wish I still had my old 5th edition lizardmen army from 20 or so years ago, would be a nice piece of nostalgia. I had 3 fully painted armies in my childhood but they've unfortunately been lost to the sands of time

 

I hope that my paint jobs from 25 years ago were securely removed and destroyed. They were really horrible and were a contributing factor to me dropping the hobby for a long time (losses on the painting).

 

Haha, mine were certainly terrible as well, but you'd never convince 13 year old me of that!

 

That is sad, but that is a much heard situation.

As a parent, other parents will agree, you have moments in life that you'll be thinking: "he/she is growing up so fast, it seemed like yesterday that they were born."

Well today was such a day. Our oldest(son, 8 years) watched me hobby-ing over my shoulder and said: "I also want to paint a model. I want to do the same hobby when I am older" I shared this with my wife and to my surprise she liked it that he wants to paint a model.
During this summer holiday I will go and learn him to paint his model.

Now for the approach, I have quite some models lying around that still need some paint, but what should I pick. My son specifically said it has to be an awesome model and that gold is his favorite color. To me these criteria are met in the Stormcast Eternals, but I am not sure if I want my kid to go down that road. Warhammer and particularly AoS are not directly suitable for 8 year-olds. And also I do not have the desire to go on with AoS 3.0.

I feel MESBG is a little bit more suitable for his age and I like the models and gameplay very much. I have a lonely Rohan warrior lying around, that can function as a nice start of an army. If I can get my son excited enough for the hobby I might be able to talk my wife into us(my son and I) sharing the starters kit of the Pellenor Fields
