Hi all,

Lately i have some questions about painting, paints and how to take care about the paint already on the model.

I think I'll have some more over time and would like to collectie them here, separate from my picures and WIP's.
Aswell this way someone else can easely find answers to there questions.

Gr, Imrahil

First questions i have are as follows:
(I will lost them so answers can be quickly connected to the questions ;))

1) my metallic paint is running quite thin ( shacking doesn't seem to do the trick) how can i get it thick again?

2) the models in my get some wear and tear by pulling them out off my figurecase. What do you use to protect the models, but does not have impact on the colors/shine of the models?

Tanks in front for answering,

Gr, Imrahil

1) The metallic could be thinning down due to lack of adequate mixing in the past. If you paint from a metallic paint without shaking it well sometimes you can pull all the medium out of it. if this is case then you might have to replace it. If the paint in question is Stormhost Silver then I have personally found it tends to be a watery paint. Shake very well and continue to use it if you want.

2) There are a number of dullcote and lacquercote sealants you can use. Testors make rattle cans for both of these. As does Army Paint, Model Masters, and a few other brands. Alternatively, you can run seal cotes through an airbrush or brush them on yourself.

I use the purity seal on my models, it has been pretty effective so far :)
