Blog Irishmans Lizards

I used regular round marbles. It was quite close but mine has 2 contact points with gorilla glue. It stays in well unless you poke it. You could always use a bit of spree to increase the size of the collar tabs.

So i was looking through the bits of my start collecting box and saw the head of the Trog and i was like" Damn! i wish i could use that" then voila, lighting stuck and here is my Trog! its made from a toy dinosaur i cut the head off. All that's needed before i paint it is some milliput to cover the gaps (i think).
I don't have a rider because i was using him as a skink pries,t but failing not being able to find a stand in ill take him off its base or get another skink star priest maybe any tips and tricks would be welcome, i don't have access to green stuff and i have to make up some kind of base, i live in the back arse of no-where in Ireland

Problems you face is milliput drys hard and is not really flexible so it could crack, if you mount it on a base that might help, apart from thay I think your onto a winner ;)

Work so far, i filled holes and gaps with milliput it seems to be ok and the base was made from foam board is now covered in polyfilla and drying out when its dry ill sand it, I'm not the best at sculpting its my first time, if it looks bad when i paint it I'll add a poncho blanket to its back :) so far so good

Painting started, looks really well so far i think, but one of my Trogs nose antenna broke :-( i have it repaired with plastic glue and milliput, if all comes to naught i'll just make it battle damage, I'm now working on how to add my Oracle to him since i have him used as a stand alone model

All finished and a little bit of clever engineering ( if do say so myself ) to get the rider on his back, all in all I'm very proud of it for my first ever conversion, that sculpting was horrible but it all worked out in the end.

To say that is your first attempt at converting a model you have achieved a fantastic model, well done he looks great. ;)

Have you got the urge to convert more, it can be quite addictive.

That really looks pretty awesome, you made the head fit a lot better than I thought possible. Good job!
