Nice...
Seems like bastilladons are kind of a thing momentary...

As Promised, a couple of shot of my Salamanders/Fire Elementals

Love your salamanders!! That's the type of colour scheme I was thinking of for mine, makes the models look a lot better using that colour scheme imo

How did you do the scales on their backs if you don't mind sharing your technique?

Of course I don't mind:

- Basecoat of Averland Sunset over all the model
- Wash with Fuegan Orange over all again
- (then you finish the skin)
- For the Scales yo apply a glaze of Bloodletter all over them
- Then apply a dot of Carrabough Crimson in the center of each scale

If you are curious the skin is done as follows starting in the previous step:

- Wash of Reikland Fleshade in the deepest recesses
- Layer with Averland Sunset
- Highlight with Fash Gitz Yellow
- Extreme Highlight with Pallid Witch Flesh
- Glaze with Lamenters Yellow
- Highlight again with Pallid Witch Flesh again for extra contrast

Hope that is helpfull.

Also, as a small update I put together this little fellows to be a unit filler for my Ancients on Rhinosaur:

They will be something really easy and relaxing to paint when I finally end the struggle that is the Bastiladon.

Did you sculpt that curled up snake yourself? I don't recognize it from any of the kits I own.

^ Yep it's from the metal Jungle swarms blister pack.
I believe you got a semi random assortment of them.
(I have a few mixed in with my swarms from the cold one box)

Yes back in the olden, olden days you got 5 lizards in the blisters. Then they made a Snakes one as well, I believe in the 7th edition overhaul.

What are Ancients on Rhinosaur? o_O

Oh sorry, I don't play AoS. I use my Lizardmen as Salamanders (faction not unit) in Kings of War.

Ancients on Rhinosaurs is a unit of Large Cavalry and the Horde formation (every unit in KoW goes in standard sized bases) fits really well my two monsters (Stegadon, Bastilodon) side by side but I need something to fill in the gap in the middle.

Base size for the Horde is 150x100, each monster is on a 50x100 so I based the lizards on another 50x100 to fill the space in the middle.
