Hi people,

I've been wandering into this forum for some months already, I think it is a fantastic resource of information for new Lizardmen players, just like me. I wasn't in the mood of signing up until I saw the Woogity models interest thread hahaha I hope we all receive some message from him soon.

I will try to colaborate with pictures and so on. I only play 8th with my work mates.

Welcome to the jungle, we have lots of great 8th tactica, and definitely want to see those army pics!

... Sigh, yea it's pretty much the 2 of us left. :meh:

haha nice! Thank you guys. By the way, I have a game this Saturday, against Vampire Counts. Any ideas? I'd thought of using Slann with Light + Book of Ashur, 1-2 wizard skinks with Heavens and some terradons to go after his nigromants.

Sounds like a decent plan, just watch out for summoned zombie and skeleton units.
He will probably drop a few next to your Slann if he can.
Oh and of course try and take out all his vampires early if you can,
his other undead just fall apart without them.

Thanks, I will take that into consideration. Also, I know that he is planning to use Purple Sun of Xereus, do you have some tips to avoid that? Maybe bring more Skinks (higher Iniciative) instead of Saurus or something else.

welcome officially to the form, I don't care what your play I just want to see your models!!! ...I need the inspiration......

I only play 8th
:)

Welcome to the site. It will be nice to have more 8th edition discussion on here. I look forward to seeing your models.

In regards to strategies for the Vampire Counts, @n810 has covered the key points. Further analysis would require knowing the play style and army composition of your opponent.

Purple Sun is absolutely devastating to us. I'd make killing the Purple Sun wielding wizard my top priority. Always be cognizant of the position of the Purple Sun wizard in relation to your key units. Try to prevent giving up angles where a single casting can pass through multiple key units. Stop the spell when you can, but when you can't try to use positioning to minimize the devastation. Also, since you are running a Slann with Light magic, the spell Speed of Light (easily the best spell in the lore for us) can be used to grant you near immunity to Purple Sun.

Thanks! We are arguing about the rules of Purple Sun... we are not sure if the "Look out sir!" rule is ignored by this and other magical vortex. What do you think? Is there an official answer to that question? We are googling it up but we find a lot of split opinions, no one seems sure about it.

You most definitely get a "Look Out Sir" roll for all spells that use templates (including Purple Sun). The FAQ provided by @n810 clearly expresses that.

I think this was the newest FAQ ?
somebody let me know if there was a newer one.
I believe that is the most recent version. That's the one I pulled off their website before the demise of WFB.

I think the majority of us are 8th edition guys. I'm still 8th in my heart!

I agree with those said above, but I will also add that you'll really be pressed in the combat phase depending on what your opponent takes. The Vampire Blender Lord is a serious Saurus Muncher. And Grave Guard will prove to be a challenging opponent with their Killing Blow.

I've personally never used the Book of Ashur. I don't think it's worth the points. We have other ways of getting the same abilities and they are usually more cost effective.

Ahh, I miss 8th...

Thanks guys! I will share that FAQ with my colleagues, since we decided that "Look Out Sir" rule wouldn't apply in the end haha.

I started with 8th edition, and my friends don't like new versions so... we'll stick to it for some time I guess. About Ashur, I used it a couple of times already and it does make a difference when used along with EOTG... It's awesome to have -6 on spell difficulty with your Slann and this combo. Maybe it is too expensive though.

I will try to show you some pictures of my recently finished Terradons.

If only that were true... we're a dying breed; the last of the old guard.
The Vampire Blender Lord is a serious Saurus Muncher.
Indeed! An epic match-up against a fully kitted Oldblood Cowboy!
And Grave Guard will prove to be a challenging opponent with their Killing Blow.
They will definitely be a tough match up. If the unit has significant numbers, then redirection might be the best course of action.

That's how I feel about it as well.
