So, what with GW releasing the Idoneth Deepkin, I decided to try my hand at making some "underwater - yet still on dry land" scatter terrain for them.

Used broken bits of Plaster of Paris this time and the paint is only washed and drybrushes - no priming whatsoever.

The plants are from an Aquarium and the critters are cheap plastic toys that aren't glued down so can easily be moved / removed.

More Jungle scenery coming SOON - my Armies on Display board will be a much bigger and new version of my waterfall you have seen already :)

I really like the idea, but find that unpainted aquarium/plant bits look completely out of place next to miniatures until they're painted...

I think they look fine...about 95% right. Oh I live in a tropical country so I see this stuff everyday :)
 
It's not about accuracy to real life plants, it's about accuracy at scale. If you like them, that's all good.

Fair enough, that is a good point. Finding accurate-scale grass for 28-ish-mm is hard in a hobby store... but a lot cheaper :D
 
Hey I'm back!

This Corona thing* means I'm slowly working through my unpainted pile and I re-cracked open my SC box.
(I'm a high school teacher in Vietnam...schools have been shut down since mid January)

Anyway...not a great light picture, but I did my warriors today.
