Decided I would work on my Slann today and here he is Happy with the progress, also about time I did something with it
An evenings work and a couple of new toys Man that painting handle is wonderful! I used to just hold the model with my fingers and last year picked up the GW handle which I enjoyed very much and honestly it's been great for me however this handle from RGG is next level. Also picked up the 2nd edition wet pallette.
Well this is my first time putting a 2000 point army together on a table(for display). Not all of it painted by me and not all painted but still pretty cool to see It's going to be a Gnarlroot army. The complete army will replace the Durthu and Branchwych with a Warsong revenant and Arch-revenant. In addition to the 3rd Sylvaneth endless spell.
Doesn't matter where that tea is my brush goes in it On the other hand I've made really good progress on the 12 Dryads(the other 8 I'm not touching) which are done apart from the basing of course The Branchwych needs the hero makeover and the first unite of Tree revenants need their weapons finishing. After that I think I'll move on to the Kuronoth Greatbows.
Making some progress on Troggoths, feels like I've lost my marbles with these I bought a second hand Dankhold Troggboss taking my Gloomspite Gitz a step closer to completion. With that the Heroes will be done.
Well I'm going to build a thousand point army of Nighthaunt Starting with repainting my first models I painted for age of sigmar... They've already been redone at some point but it's been a while before I was comfortable using a spray can to prime models I had planned on picking up a Christmas bundle this year and while the Seraphon box has a lot going for it, I'm not so interested in having a second Slann. So instead I picked up a box from last year, The Legion of Grief.
Happy new year all! First model of the year is done and it feels somehow a very fitting one given what is just around the corner
Decided to paint up my Skink Skirmishers and I also finished up the display piece they are sitting on. The Skinks still need a fair bit of work but they're coming along steadily. The Seraphon itch has me right now and I have two boxes of Aggradons on the way which is half of what I plan for my eventual 2000 points of Koatl's claw. Other than this I've been working on Wood Elves
Took my Seraphon out to play today and got smashed I played two 1000 point games in what was a fairly full game day at my local Warhammer store, first game was against Slaanesh and the second was against Stormcast. I'll start with the second game that was very disappointing from my perspective in terms of how I lost it. It was against someone who was similarly inexperienced like myself but from off I set myself up for failure. He had a one drop deployment and I had 4. I think I did better than I had in the past with my deployment but I put my Carno square up against his Yndrasta who is a monster slayer and then I followed up the decision by moving towards it. They were tied up for a couple of turns until his Fulminators arrived to clean things up. I wasted my Raptadons charging them up the board in the second turn to their demise, in what was a really poor and pointless decision. Their target was a unit of Vindictors and a Storm.... Chariot, splitting attacks between them and not really doing much to either only downing two Vindictors. Poor decision making really cost me in this one. As for the first match I was up against a very good list played by one of the more experienced players and she smashed me, I could barely land a blow killing just 3 of the 44 models on the board whilst being tabled by the end. The scores where actually somewhat close which was quite funny but the best thing that has ever happened in a game took place. She had 20 demonetts charge, Syll esska already in combat pinning me and then she charged my carno with a Vice Leader who gets Strike first on the charge and also gets to fight along side the demonetts. So my opponent would've been able to attack with all 3 before I could do anything. In a moment of brilliance my Carno decided that wasn't fair in in one bite said "no!" rolling a 6 on gargantuan jaws and eating the 5 wound Vice Leader up Not only disrupting the entire sequence but removing a buff from Syll esska who requires equal number of Deamon and mortal units. The Carno was slain swiftly afterwards by Syll esska but that moment lives on All in all a very enjoyable day
First time I've seen an Aggradon in person and I'm in love with the models This is the Scar-vet on Aggradon.
