I 95% of the time do this, the only times I don't are if the bug in question is too small to catch in my bug-catcher without squishing him (because some tiny flies are just that small), whereupon it's easier (though crueller I admit) to just grab them in a tissue and toss it in the bin.
Same, wife and kids can't stand spiders, I think they're cute, so I take them outside. Then I have to relocate all of the orb weavers from the deck and yard, and take them down the alley to the pond. They always name one either Thor or Zeus, but they're not that big.
Funny, I have quite the similar situation, the larger spiders(3" and above) give me goosebumps a little though, but meanwhile I do find them very interesting. So the larger ones get a transport by box and cardboard. Grrr, Imrahil
TBH, by reading the title alone, i too would be curious to check the video. It's a very bizarre bait.
