    I can intellectually grasp the metric system but I don't internalize it. If you tell me something in kilograms I have to translate a kilogram as 2.2 pounds in my head.

    I know that water freezes at 0 degrees Celsius and boils at a 100 degrees. That's all fine and good but I have NO idea what the weather feels like when it's 20 degrees Celsius out. I have a clear concept of -20 , -10, 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, and 110 in Faherenheit. I know how to dress, how much fluids I need, and how crappy I'm going to feel.

    I carry a water bottle with a liter capacity (which is very close to a quart) pretty much everywhere I go. Sadly I sort of blank if you tell me there is 100 liters of waters in a container. But to fair, I am not very good at grasping volume of large things in gallons. When I cook, I don't wing it, I am very tied to my measuring spoons and measuring cups. I don't really care if I use metric or standard measures, my measuring tools have both gradients and I'll use whatever the recipe says.

    I have a very good idea what one millimeter is, what one centimeter is, what one meter is. Kilometers you lost me. Without miles I am almost literally lost. But you lose me if you say someone is 175 centimeters tall.

    I wish I had something witty to add. This is too awesome for words. Like the ferret who became a unionized electrician in New Zealand.
