I like this!

As a prolific reader of science fiction when I was younger, I had a thought that if while mankind was exploring space and stumbled upon the remnants of a long lost alien culture, that by finding their equivalent of a periodic table, this would aid in deciphering their language and writings. Sort of a Rosetta stone.
